@realDonaldTrump

Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth. North Korea would be the same, and very quickly, if it would denuclearize. The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong Un. We will know fairly soon - Very Interesting!

Yes, it’s a real shining example of what can go right when you .... <checks notes> fight off what you perceive as US imperialism in a protracted no-holds-barred conflict and <checks notes again> ...establish a socialist state? Looks at Kim whos laughing because he swapped trumps notes...
The President of the United States calling a communist murderous dictator his friend.

Deep down Trump would love the same subservience from the American public, that Kim has back home.

But when it suited Trump a while back, Kim was a little rocket man on the verge of starting WW3.

I bet Kim can't believe his luck that he's been given such legitimacy on the world stage without complying to any denuclearisation.

Bad photo or has trump changed his hair? Looking more like a North Korean leader?

I have now spent more time in Vietnam than Da Nang Dick Blumenthal, the third rate Senator from Connecticut (how is Connecticut doing?). His war stories of his heroism in Vietnam were a total fraud - he was never even there. We talked about it today with Vietnamese leaders!

Cadet bone spurs says that without even a hint of irony.

How about just getting on with the job in hand instead of these constant childlike petty bullying insults?
I don’t think he’s got too much to be proud about when it comes to Vietnam.

You'd think, but it'll be spun as just being smart and absolutely not just one of the elite dodging his way out.

Just shows you the culture of lying in US politics though because Trump would appear to be right on Blumenthal who 'misspoke' about his (non) Vietnam service. Wiki says he swerved the draft five times.

A lot of rednecks...sorry, Trump's base are Vietnam veterans or come from vet families.

Anyone else think Kim will nip off early again? Got Trump and entourage all the way to Vietnam, have a good dinner then train it back home whilst Trumps busy tweeting away on the bog?

Stolen valour (claiming to be/have been in military or being of higher rank etc) is a big issue in the US as service people are held in high regard. Blumenthal claiming to be in Vietnam when he wasn't is possibly worse than Trump who simply didn't go due to "medical problems".

But Trump moralising on Vietnam / North Korea, and well anything, is nauseating.

Other people should pull Blumenthal up for it certainly, but when Trump does it, it just highlights his utter lack of self awareness and common sense.

Politico have a copy of what Cohen is expected to say

https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000169-2d31-dc75-...

Michael Cohen will allegedly make about the Trump Tower meeting and Trump's possible knowledge of it

On trumps Vietnam deferment: "Trump claimed it was because of a bone spur, but when I asked for medical records, he gave me none and said there was no surgery ... He finished ... with the following comment. 'You think I'm stupid, I wasn't going to Vietnam.'"

According to the statement obtained by Politico, Cohen will say: "Trump is a conman. He asked me to pay off an adult film star with whom he had an affair, and to lie to his wife about it, which I did. Lying to the First Lady is one of my biggest regrets"
"The President of the United States thus wrote a personal check for the payment of hush money as part of a criminal scheme to violate campaign finance laws."

And lied about it let's not forget, several times saying he knew nothing about it.

Oh today is going to be interesting.
Meh.

Everybody knew all that already. It's not going to change anything.

Sorry to be so pessimistic but you know I'm right. His supporters are well aware that he's as slimy as fresh skidmarks on a pair of week-old underpants but they're content with that. They have known (or suspected as much) for years, well before the 2016 caampaign.

Yes, that was my point.
Again, not a snowball's chance in the Sahara.

- he's slagged off gold star families
- he slagged off John McCain (as close to a real life hero that you could get)
- he's slagged off countless Generals
- he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Putin and insulted the FBI and CIA

Those rednecks might be "Vietnam Vets". It doesn't mean they're not stupid or that they don't think the biggest threat they face is their own Government. A lot of them will think "hell, if we could have avoided Vietnam we would have done exactly the same".

Trump constantly boasts about his big brain, and how clever he is. So revealing these would be hilarious.

Concur. His supporters knew what they were getting when they voted for him, maybe some have been surprised quite how slimy he is but he still broadly represents their views so they obviously look the other way. And of course, Bannon's masterstroke was to understand that Trump was a massively flawed candidate in the traditional sense so the strategy to attack, question and lie to and about the media from day 1 of the campaign made the damaging reports / allegations have less impact.

I suspect some people who just voted against Hillary may be wavering now.

I know a few Americans who despise what he's done to politics in the US, not particularly his policies but simply the lowering of the standard of behavior.

There is this but he's being kept in power by the GOP. As these allegations continue, the indictments start, then they maybe will find a spine and start to stop supporting him, as will the floating voters
