trump Tower in Chicago contains the city's biggest real-estate failure: a massive, hard-to-reach, below-grade retail space it hasn't managed to rent out in 10 years.
The tower’s failure is an outlier in Chicago’s competitive retail market, where no comparable space has languished on the market for nearly this long.

Another opportunity to launder money originally then overpriced so it can be written off as a loss to offset other business incomes?

Ranks 100th of 100 Chicago downtown buildings for energy efficiency. Even though it is relatively new, it’s poorly built apparently

Why do all these guys 'cooperate' with these investigations and lie? Is 'pleading the 5th' not a real thing? OK sure you look guilty as hell, but if you are and everyone already thinks you are, surely the best thing to do is STFU and not get tripped up lying too?

How fking stupid do you have to be not to realise how you will look pulling funding from that group?

Hope it backfires massively.
You're completely wrong. The only people who care about this are those that loath Trump already. It will not make an iota of difference to those that support Trump and, actually, it will reinforce their belief that he's cutting what they consider to be a waste of their tax dollars.

Isn't it the case that if you "plead the 5th" then the jury/judge can still decide based on the facts whether or not you are guilty - just because you don't admit to it doesn't make it so.

As such they co-operate in order to plead down their own sentences, which then means they are compelled to answer

I think some relatively "normal" republican voters/floating voters will find this abhorrent.

But thank you for completely dismissing my opinion.

Maria Butina, a 30-year-old Russian national who ingratiated herself with conservative circles and the gun rights movement in the U.S., will be sentenced on April 26, a federal judge said Thursday.

Butina was charged last July with conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent, and has been in jail since then. She pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy and has been cooperating with investigators.

You really do have a very, very low opinion of an awful lot of Americans. Unfortunately, it may be accurate.

more allegations of trump fraud
Cohen testified that trump allegedly submitted a false insurance claim regarding a fresco on the ceiling of Melania's bathroom. It supposedly was damaged due to steam.

You're welcome.

The reason it was dismissed was because it resembled similar opinions/statements over the past 2/3 years about how XYZ [insert cretinous Trump decision or statement of the week] would result in significant negative consequences for Trumpo. They rarely have and, even then, the effect has been short lived. Look at his poll ratings if you don't believe me.

Possibly. But not as abhorrent as voting for babykilling gun-stealing muslim-lovers.

An awful lot of Americans are incredibly stupid. That's not just an opinion, that's fact. When you look at the number of people who believed Obama wasn't American, the number who believe that democrats want post-birth abortion, the number that listen to Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, and or watch Fox News and accept them at face value, there really isn't any other conclusion.

Well, it is opinion, I'm afraid. They're not smarter, either, just to be clear (actually they're pretty average, although slightly less smart than also almost as average Brits according tho this table: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/List-of-countr... ).

I've heard Brits (and other non-American citizens) level this accusations at Americans both in the UK and in the US (us expats are especially good at deriding our hosts arbitratily, after all). I see it more as a fundemental cultural difference that creates this perception. Americans are generally a fair bit more conservative than the average European (including the British) which makes some of their views seem pretty bonkers.

I won't lie, I find many of those views confusing and hard to justify on a regular basis, but I really don't see it as stupidity that causes this. Just as us Brits have our present identity somewhat shaped by our past national identity, so do Americans.

For example, segregation for them was in living memory for many. It's hardly surprising they still have serious problems with racism a generation of so on (and that's before we start on the economic impacts slavery has had on racial disparity). And there's all sorts of episodes of American history that have impacted their culture in weird and wonderful ways. Just my two penneth, of course.

I don't actually disagree with anything you've said. I assume the link you've posted looks at averages and, given how successful as a whole the US is, it would be logical to assume that they have a lot of very clever people and that, on average, they are at least as clever as anybody else. And also FWIW the US citizens that I've met on holiday have been exceptionally nice and polite, even when questioning me for 3 hours at Immigration.

Btw "Conservative" doesn't necessarily mean that a person is stupid. If a person believes that the earth is only 6000 years old that isn't "conservative" it's stupid. And if people believe that the Democrats support post-birth abortion or that Mexico is going to pay for a wall then my view is that they ARE stupid

More than happy to debate - however people keep putting the same arguments forward after 2/3 years of Trump. It reminds me of the definition of insanity.

If you were to ask me what Trump stood for I'd say "Wall and Immigrants and tax cuts". If you were to ask me what the Dems stood for I wouldn't be too sure...possibly higher taxes, better healthcare, and green stuff. The point being that trump's message (whilst nonsensical) is easy for his supporters to understand. if the Dems are going to win in 202 then they need a similar simple unifying message.

Countdown quite rightly points out the polarisation at the moment, where there still are a significant number of trump supporters who recognise he's not quite right, but they enjoy 'sticking it to the man', tilting at the establishment, which strangely trump is (or is desperate to be) but manages to convince his supporters he's for them.

Following the claims from Cohen that trump inflated his value to get loans, the Washington Post has an in-depth look at how Trump inflated his wealth, such as:
Added 10 stories to Trump Tower by changing the floor numbers
Inflated number of lots for sale at Cali club
Exaggerated the size of vineyard
Exaggerated the value of Westchester Co. estate
Left out buildings with loans
