trumps promises to help the farmers as he ramped up his trade wars (easy to win) with a $12Bn bailout seems to have been an empty promis
According to the Department of Agriculture, just $838 million has been paid out to farmers since the first $6 billion pot of money was made available in September. Another pool of up to $6 billion is expected to become available next month. The government is unlikely to offer additional money beyond the $12 billion, according to Sonny Perdue, the agriculture secretary.

China is restricting the market for soybeans, Europe is planning more retaliatory tariffs on top of those already imposed on American peanut butter and orange juice, and Canada and Mexico continue to levy taxes on American goods, including on pork and cheese. The farmers are suffering whilst
Soybean farmers have received the most generous subsidies, but even for them it has been too little, too late. Through mid-October, according to federal data, American soybean sales to China — the world’s largest importer of soybeans — have declined by 94 percent from last year’s harvest. The subsidy rate of 82.5 cents per bushel is covering less than half the losses of American soybean farmers.

Shouldn't one of them at least be called Acosta? I guess the second could be Avenatti?
Wouldn't that show a degree of humour and maybe even be a small olive branch?
Donald only has the best olive branches, really great ones, that are definitely raked up at all times. But none of them are for the LYING DEMS who have shown NO COLLUSIONWouldn't that show a degree of humour and maybe even be a small olive branch?
The official GOP account has now come fully out in support to trumps attack on McRaven
GOP
@GOP
Worth noting after recent comments: Retired Adm. William McRaven was reportedly on Hillary Clinton’s short list for Vice President in 2016.
He’s been critical of President @realDonaldTrump— even dating back to the 2016 campaign.
He’s hardly a non-political figure.

Trump claimed McRaven should have found bin Laden sooner. CIA did the “finding.” McRaven’s special operators did the “getting.” They moved within days of President Obama giving the order.
Not that cadet bone spurs, who won't honour troops in the rain, who won't visit active troops, who has deployed troops to the southern border for polictal reasons, would understand.

What may be most notable about the President's attack on McRaven is that it is not new but fits a pattern he established with McCain, Khizr Khan, and Mueller: Military heroism and sacrifice is no protection if you criticize Trump.

Jesus Christ. If this report is accurate...
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo apparently hand delivered a plan to Crown Prince MBS to help MBS shield himself from the murder of a US resident.

Lock her up!
Says it occurred before she knew the rules about such things.Lock her up!
So she never heard her father constantly berate Clinton for it? Never heard the "Lock her up" chants at rallies and wondered what they referred to?
Utter bks.
I hope the press really put Daddy on the spot for this.

Some have said that many others would do what trump has done over the Khashoggi killing, because of Saudi influence, oil and money, but ignore just how intwined team trump are.
Seth Abramson has detailed the connections. Worth a read of just how Team trump took assistance and why, how Kushner passed intelligence briefings over, allowing the Saudi crown prince to suppress and kill opponents, how they attempted to cover up.

Meanwhile,
NBC News calls NM-02: Xochitl Torres Small (D) is the apparent winner in New Mexico 2. Democrat gain. —
@NBCPolitics
This now puts Democrats with a net gain of 38 seats in the House and there's a possibility that could hit 40

The White House correspondence association has not been given these nor have they agreed to them, saying follow up questions have always been and will always be asked.
"For as long as there have been W.H. press conferences, W.H. reporters have asked follow-up questions. We fully expect this tradition will continue. We will continue to make the case that a free and independent news media plays a vital role in the health of our republic."
Basically the White House lost because they had no due process to follow after trump had a tantrum. They are now trying to setup a draconian process whereby they can refuse passes for any infringement they may feel like.
One question only.
A followup allowed at the discretion of, well, whoever is holding the press conference.
If an honest answer isn't forthcoming, does re-asking the question constitute a 2nd question?
They should do this.
Reporter1 asks his question. Then tries to ask a follow up question. Sarah cuts him off and calls on Reporter2 who asks Reporter1 what his follow up question is and tells Sarah that’s her question

Pompeo's Saudi plan includes an option to pin Khashoggi's murder on an innocent member of the ruling family in order to insulate those at the very top. That person hasn't been chosen, & Saudi leaders are reserving the plan in case pressure on MbS becomes too much.
Lets remember that he went two weeks after the killing, when Saudi were still denying, but the turks had released their evidence.
Remember also that the day after his meeting with MbS, Pompeo told journalists that the Saudis didn't want to talk about the facts in Khashoggi’s case and neither did he. "I don’t want to talk about any of the facts,” Pompeo said. “They didn’t want to either."
More Lies. The US Secretary of State hand-delivered a plan to the Saudi ruling family to help them cover up the murder of a US journalist.
There's also reports that SA were prepared to hand over Gulen (that same dissident Gen Flynn was plotting to secretly rendition) over to Erdogan to get Turkey to stop pressing the Saudis and releasing further incriminating evidence.

Oh look. The troops are being withdrawn from the border... Well elections over now...
