Paris is not France, Yellow jackets are there but also there are the "activists".
The Yellow vest are strongly supported by many many local communities. Macron will try to make this about the violence in Paris, that is only a 10th of his problems, Marcon will fall, it is not just his Mum who will spank him at the end of this...
Half arsed attempt at revolution if they only turn up at the weekends.

If you try to overthrow a democratically elected president then you probably don't belong in a democracy.
I do not relly think that is the aim, the "overthrow will come for him and the French establishment by increased votes for the left and the right.

The Europeian elete have no clue what will happen next and are shiiting themselves as their plans for us start to crumble, the more they ride rough over us all the more they pust the populations to the more extreme parties. They just cannot see it or let go of their self righteous smug "I know what is best for you so shut up" and just take what we think/.do what we say or you are a radical or a racist.

They know they won't overthrow him. That will come in the May elections next year. Democratically!
Unless, of course, he changes tack. People in power do anything to stay in power.

You are one hundred and ninety-nine per-cent correct. Most people, including those not on the breadline, are more concerned about immediate matters, work, family and 'their' lives, not the planet which is not going to disappear - there's too much f money to be made for it to!

Attenborough said stupidly, 'the collapse of civilisation and the natural world IS ON THE HORIZON.'
Really? I watched an Airbus A400M Atlas this morning. This huge aircraft was just a tiny blob ...on the horizon.
Under one minute later it was passing over the roof of my house (low too!).

Attenborough scares me.
Not with his forecasts though, they're about as predictable as the weather forecast next Tues given by the Met Office today.
I watched Question Time on the beeb the other night and the audience discussed so-called climate change. A 16 yr old girl (she said so) in the audience participated and looked, was, is absolutely traumatised by 'climate change', she really thinks the 'end is nigh'. Poor lass.
Funny how the people preaching about the environment are the people who, if we follow their logic, have caused the most damage. Wonder how much pollution Attenborough has caused over the years with all of his travel.

Lefty, conspiring BBC avoid the disorder!

Although they've not attributed it to Macron perpetuating 'false' climate change theories, so they're not off the hook. Instead they've attributed it to being multi-faceted as the evidence indicates.
Try BBC News 24...
Feel free to provide a URL.

The chaps at bbc.co.uk obviously haven't got the conspiracy memo and have inadvertently put it at the top!
I'm watching BBC 24 at the moment and its the first item on the 11pm bulletin.

Perhaps if you concentrated more on the work element rather than arguing with strangers on the internet, you might have been able to finish what you are doing before 11pm on a Saturday night!!

I say that in jest as I only scan over the top threads in one or two sub-forums but I've noticed your (quite distinctive due to its length) user name replying several times to any/all topics relating to Brexit or politics in general.

yep, sanctimonious virtue signaling hypocritical tossers the lot of them. too dumb to realise they are being used as pawns in the push for global governance.

When i was 16 years old, wet behind the ears, the big story was we were heading into an Ice Age and what worried us was being melted by a Soviet ICBM.

There will always be a bogyman story for the youth of the time.

I remember the threat of acid rain being preached to us at school. That and peak oil.

Was listening to R4 the other day and a guest was talking about how average temperatures could rise by another 1.5 degrees celsius by the year 2030 resulting in a global catastrophe.

She then went on to say that temperatures that high had not been recorded since around 16,000 years ago - something they had discovered from analysis of ice cores at the poles.

Clearly then, temperatures have been higher before with no influence from humans and further fluctuations will happen over and over again in the future.

I do believe however that despite natural cycles, we are exacerbating and/or accelerating these changes in the climate nowadays.

Humans (as a whole) are total scumbags, in the last 100 years, we have cut down more forests than ever before, burnt oil, killed off around half the species of animals known to science with scores more on the danger list. Manufacture plastic on a ridiculous scale and pollute the world with our waste.

An extinction event which wipes out 95% of the global population (and I include myself in that) might not be a bad thing in the long run.

I don't think we need 95%. Stop healthcare globally and the population will naturally reduce.

Nah, who is going to propose that and get it voted through on a global stage? Not going to happen.

During the 20th century alone, the world population went from around 1 billion to 6 billion, the largest growth happening from the 70's and 80's onwards. We are now nearing 8 billion but still live on the same planet as we did 100 years ago.

Not only is that extrapolation of population increase unsustainable, but we seem to be doing our best (as a species) to wipe out all natural resources, flora and fauna as we go along. We managed to get rid of the last Northern White Rhino this year, an animal which has been happily existing for thousands and thousands of years, one of the nearest things we had to a living dinosaur but humans have managed to eradicate it for no good reason in a couple of our generations.

I stand by my original point - fcensoredk humanity, we have become a scourge on the earth and deserve to be wiped out.

Perhaps you know fk all about what I am doing and why I have periods of "waiting" before I can complete the next part of the work ?

But, thank you for your concern

Irony meter off the scale.

You mean, like trying to ignore the referendum and stop Brexit as you have advocated on many other threads?

Not pretending it's a vote winner, but in lieu of an extinction event.....

I will start to pay attention when the next climate conference is done entirely by video conference rather that a load of functionaries flying around the world. Until then, it is all a bit “do as I say” rather than leading by example.
