Eddie... I watched 4-5 hrs of coverage on Saturday and spent another 4-5 hrs following it so why would I do that. Of course there are still areas not affected, but 100,140,000 people is a lot of people. But then soy boy Owen Jones thought there was 15,000 at his rally, and 750,000 at the people's march.
Get in your car. See for yourself. Then report back. You will see I am right and you are wrong. EddieSteadyGo said:

I've googled your "Quoted statement" - nothing matched - so I don't think it's unreasonable to request a link to the source of the quote
Personally as I have linked two recent articles on the BBC web Pages that are regarding the "Yellow Vests" I think your quote is "Fake News"
Quick quick silence the tin foil hat mad mad.... You used google... most of us use duck duck go now.Personally as I have linked two recent articles on the BBC web Pages that are regarding the "Yellow Vests" I think your quote is "Fake News"

Sorry I wasn't referring that this came from a search engine,I should of just said I use rather than used duck duck go and should of made that more clear. But you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know government D notices are not broadcast... You know it's all a little bit Shh Shhcitizensm1th said:

WWG1WGAIf I was currently in Government I'd be glad of any coverage that is taking the media focus away from the complete clusterfk they are making of Brexit.........
It's a "French" focus issue - why the fk should it be on BBC UK news!!!!

Again I shouldn't have to do your homework for you as I'm not a journalist. If you really can't work that one out again It makes me wonder how up to date you are with World news. We here in the UK are about to have hundreds of thousands hit the streets and maybe just maybe they don't wish us to see what's happening all over Europe. Again the government really do think people with any sense still read MSM news. I have not opened a MSM news for 4 months or have a switched my tv on for longer. Do you use Twitter? If I was currently in Government I'd be glad of any coverage that is taking the media focus away from the complete clusterfk they are making of Brexit.........

I'm confused as to why you think the government was to suppress the reporting of the French riots. What will it do, apart from take attention away from brexit. You seem to be suggesting that twitter is a reliable source of news. I'm not sure that's correct. Edited by TVRJAS on Monday 7th January 21:59
Why do you think hundreds of thousands are going to hit the streets?
Historically, the UK hasn't been that bothered by what has happened on the continent. Any online news gets a low level of hits. No one is interested. It is, I think, reprehensible, but it's what happens. They need hits so they ignore what their readers ignore.
Back in the late 60s there were real riots in France, almost a revolution, not like the amateur rent-a-mob they've got now. It went largely unnoticed this side of the pond, despite it being in all the papers. You could not have a conversation about it because no one cared. There was orchestrated mobbery, but it was half-hearted. Once the film of the Grosvenor Square attack on the police was seen, the public went against the rioters, regarding is as cowardly and really not British at all.

"hundreds of thousands" - sounds like an awful lot of people - what will they be doing on the streets? Be a good idea if they picked up litter as a starting point What's happening all over Europe?

No idea what the government think - I find it best to get news from a variety of sources - the French TV has had some very good coverage on the "Yellow Vest" protests it's where I would go first for latest news

Sounds perfectly reasonable - been many times recently when I'd like to do the same the wall to wall coverage on Brexit is dominating every bloody UK channel

Yep - I've I've made 4 tweets in 5 years and I follow about 3 or 4 people - one of them is Donald Trump because I like a good laugh at least once a dayDerek Smith said:

I'm sure it is not reliable. It is a source, to be treated with the upmost caution. Twitter can become the ultimate echo chamber, if you let it.Having said that, I do use it. But it can't be used to gauge the scale of opinion or the depth of feeling on a topic.
