I wonder how much extra C02 was pumped into the atmosphere given the traffic chaos these bellends will have no doubt caused.

How rude.
Cant be that warm they have their big coats on and poor lass has a woolly hat. And they are in London where it’s warmer than oop North anyway.
Don't worry, they'll soon be off to the shops/coffee bars to warm up in their centrally heated buildings.

Wtf Canada regularly has temperatures down to the region of -10 in warm parts and -40 is not unusual in the cooler cities, probably even lower up north. How does she think they survive that without heating!

She probably compared temperatures in June for Canada and Australia, saw Canada was warmer than Australia and assumed climate warming/chaos/change. Only suggesting this as our former rent-a-protestor neighbour (she had several placards in the doorway depending on what she was whining about) wasn’t aware that the seasons are different in the Southern Hemisphere and was shocked to see how hot it was in the U.K. compared to Australia during August.

I'll get almost my entire bank account that everyone at that protest uses a form of fossil fuel in the lives at some point maybe once a day.

  1. XR / #ExtinctionRebellion is an international movement, using mass civil disobedience to pressure governments to enter WWII-level mobilisation mode in response to climate breakdown and ecological crisis.
Seems a bit dramatic, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.... confused

They're too busy recharging their iPhones from the electricity trees to care.

They're back today. Lambeth and Vauxhall bridges, Elephant and Castle, Tower Bridge and Earl’s Court have been targeted this morning by "Extinction Rebellion".

How comes only the Left protesters can do this without getting arrested

Can you imagine the field day the newspapers and police would have if the same type of protest was held by the Football Lads Alliance (or any other group on the Right).
Well this is the thing.

We have a moderately 'right wing' government in power. So right wing groups just lobby their MP's, the Government, and get a sympathetic ear.

Left wing groups don't get a sympathetic ear from the Government, and so feel greater need to protest to be heard.

But you are right, if Football Lads Alliance or any other *far* right group were to protest like that, there would be big problems: because no-one likes racist morons.

All well and good. However, when there was a moderate left wing government in power the majority of protests were still in the main lead by left wing organisations.

I know a few people who went to this. All would identify as well earning, comfortably middle-class individuals, who travel around the world for their job, shop at waitrose and own / use premium mobile devices, and other electronics. Hang-wringing leftism.

Screwed we may well be if / when climate change pans out, but these type of people want the penny and the bun.

This talk (if you can call it that...) describes the situation as they perceive it, describes why they should get arrested, and the consequences, but it does all get a bit cultish... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2VkC4SnwY0

Because they didn't see Blair as left wing enough

Can we not just run a few of them over instead?

I don't know love, what do you do when you live in a democracy and the people don't do what you want?

Why do we have to turn this into Left v Right?

My guess would be majority Lib Dem rather Labour voters. Zac Goldsmith ran on a far more Green manifesto than Khan. And still lost.

Arrest them and punishment should be making them sleep rough until Christmas. Realise just how wrong they are about the warming world being a bad thing.
