I assume a delay in article 50 will mean we have to run the EU elections in May? There is no way to opt out of it?

With the new stance that May has chosen re Brexit, what's the betting she and her team have been offer something lucrative in the future. May to become EU's President for placing cherries on cakes; a life time role and plenty of reward to boot.
she'd have to emigrate

“Democracy” is an illusion, it gives us plebs the feeling we’re in control, but sadly we’re not. It doesn’t matter who you vote in they’ve all got an agenda to stick to. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I’ll never vote again.

Anything but Corbyn though. He would make May look like Thatcher in terms of leadership ability and competence

Once Brexit is done and dusted whatever the outcome- please vote Conservative

I seem to be aline in thinking May has played a blinder, she has basically put Mogg and co in a corner and the only way out his vote for her deal. Of course she is able to do this now labour have got off the fence as a general election would be between leave and remain in a two horse race, one of which is falling to pieces.

I can't see the ERG and DUP risking no brexit.

My understanding is the exact opposite - we wouldn't take part in the elections, which would then result in a cliff edge at the end of June that would be impossible to extend since we don't have any MEPs.

To me, today's statement was quite clever, having probably taken the wind out of Cooper/Letwin (which was really dangerous for our whole system of government) while not really promising anything.

After a pivot towards the Remainers today I expect the next two weeks will be spent by the PM doing the Brexiteers' work by whipping against a delay - it will sound pretty unappetising, especially since nobody has any idea what they would do with the time.

Is it too late for the whole brexit thing to be called off?

Technically, no. Article 50 can be withdrawn.
