Hey Piha, my news feed just popped up. Looks like we are heading for the exit under the Sail of Mays deal. I'm not happy about that but i suppose it's Leaves fault. They are to blame, right hehe

I know it's wrong but one of my wife friend (who Marched last week, need I say more!) is a leftie, frothing loon. I want to see her totally lose it, now. Straight jacket and padded room. hehe
I think your comment says more about you than it does about your wife friend or anybody else TBH.

rolleyes
yes, it says he has a funny sense of humour and doesn't take life too seriously. crime of the century eh rolleyes anyone that is going batst mental at the extreme end of either position is a bit of a frother and has no complaint when they get ripped for it imo, ymmv.

I laugh when I see the apoplectic bile posted in the corbyn thread begging people to wake up, see him and his rabble for what they are, the biggest existential threat to the moral fibre of UK.Inc etc...etc...

If you guys wanna see an existential threat look no further than the current incumbent of no10, someone who actually HAS power, someone who is actually a genuine LIVE threat. Wake up guys, wake up. The grand old party is tearing itself apart, we have neither a credible leadership nor a credible opposition, we are practicing nihilistic politics and racing each other to the bottom of a moral morass that apparently has no bottom..., a contradiction that means we are perpetrating a Sisyphean act of self, and collective harm individually and on the society in which we live

If there’s a year or mores extension she could be our PM for the whole period.

I think I might go on a very long holiday.

Srious business, and yet, I went to the pub last night and it was no different to the last 20 years.

Being at 'the bottom of a moral morass' is a very dramatic way of saying bugger-all has changed out there in the actual world.

Sit tight, it'll blow over.

I'll just leave this here as this thread takes itself less seriously than the negotiations one.

Great point, and I summarized it different elsewhere by suggesting that today I took a st, tomorrow I will take a st, and am gonna continue taking sts regardless!!! However, I think this situation has put politicians under such harsh scrutiny that my moral morass comment is not without foundation. There have been more politicians caught lying, cheating and just happy to practice a heads below the parapet mediocre ineptitude than ever before, or more likely they are now being noticed with more frequency. This countries confidence in its political class has never been lower nor has our international standing. Tinpot democracy.

It is the great unifier of the people, Toto has pulled back the curtain and what we thought were great Wizards are nothing more than humbug circus performers. If we learn anything from this little episode, this should be it.

Reference sts and pubs, a good comment on a Trump thread was 'a farmer in Nebraska turns on the radio, hears 'no collusion', shrugs, and goes back to his frozen, flooded field'.

Or b. It’s just politics. More interesting politics granted but politics. We will only see what affect this ‘threat’ of yours will have in about a year when we can look back at how things panned out.
Very easy to stand back on your morally high soap box and preach doom and gloom...

I am in no position to take a moral high point brother man, believe me. I try to be a better man than I have been but it ain't easy.

When are her own people going to be able to get through to her that she needs to give up?

Why haven't Cabinet Members now started resigning?

What’s the point in her giving up? Her deal (the eu’s deal) is the only one the EU will accept.

It’s that or nothing.

Nothing is either no deal (which most MPs are against) or cancelling the whole thing which also seems to not be on the table.
