Big news, if true.
Uses the TIR system just like 50 odd other countries so electronically logged/ listed/ no customs requirements at points of entry.

As you say big news, if true. Throws project Fear V2 under a bus. A big red one.

Cheers,

Tony
It's funny how the one thing Mr T has been saying is impossible might have just been done, whereas the one thing he's now saying is possible (unilateral A50) has just taken a step further back.
Also could remove the requirement for customs posts on the NI/Eire border so no backstop required.

And who do the Eu like today ? Says a lot.
You mean like No gay marriage, No abortion for women. That sort of free

I lived in Israel for a while, your post is ignorant.

Oh thanks. I too have been to the middle east, there was ONE free country (it had a blue and white flag)

Ahhh, let them marry then throw them off the building then smile

Know your enemy by their friends.

Now, lets talk about ignorance, well lets use the DUP vrs Hamas etc, now making out the DUP are somehow worse is a little bit errr, ignorant maybe ?

The point is that the UK currently subsidies EU orange producers. We pay more to protect Spanish farmers from other international producers who may be able to operate at lower costs. In short, the EU makes the UK consumer spend more on oranges than is necessary.
Do no UK businesses enjoy protection under the EU?
Quite a few do but you knew that

I guess we could classify farming as one (CAP)
The sugar industry in the UK is to an extent (Probably only because of the protection offered to mediteranean producers

He was on telly saying he would back May’s deal if they had a backstop exit.

Their positions are really surprisingly close.
On the deal itself yes - but eliminating the backstop allows for significant divergence at the next stage of the negotiations.

I think this will focus the minds of the Tories, and Corbyn will fail.

It was interesting and remarkable that Rees-Mogg gave May his full support earlier on today.

If there was something far more concrete than what May has currently on the WA and the backstop, May would get it through easily.

May is clearly far more astute than many give her credit for, no giving in on extending A50, no to a 2nd referendum and no reassurances on leaving the EU without a deal, May knows what the EU are going for............a 2nd referendum.

Giving in on any of the demands (extending A50/2nd referendum/no deal off the table) made in the House, and she's blown it

Given time I think May could yet pull it off, and I think her plan is more easily read now.

Well, well, well. Does TM have a backstop "get out of jail free card" ?

As there's no need for customs posts, trade will be as frictionless as it is now. And the need to ensure no Irish border for goods is agreed.

So if there's no need for the backstop it is quite possible for the EU to remove that element via an addendumor other mechanic to the original WA agreement.

No backstop will bring into play a good number of Brexit supporting MP's from both sides of the house..

Cheers,
Tony

Wriggle all you like, you did.

You said that gay marriage bans (but NOT Civil Partnerships remember) and restrictions on terminations was equal to throwing gay people from buildings.

I’ve many better things to do than argue with angry middle aged men on Internet forums, but I’ve occasionally read this thread to keep my finger on the deranged gammon pulse that has sent our country temporarily insane for a year or two.

My conclusion is as follows: the poster known as The Dangerous Elk is actually a large ponderous bovine creature of the genus Cervus canadensis who has somehow learnt how to use a keyboard to enlighten us with his educated and balanced pearls of socio-political wisdom.

I doubt very much if he’s dangerous though, apart from, quite obviously, to himself.
