To me it seems that the reason this is hitting the news is that it happened to a woman.

The BBC seems to suggest that women MPs get far more abuse then men, is there any evidence of this?
I would suggest just go look on Twitter.

If I were being provocative I'd also say look at the Diane Abbott thread on here. Yes she makes some appalling gaffes but enough to warrant that thread solely off of those gaffes?

I don't have twitter.

What was worse what happened to Ann Soubry or Jaccobb Rees Mogg were protesters targeted him and his family?

The vast majority of leavers did it with good intentions. But Leave 'won' by getting a small group of people who had never voted for anything, engaged by the immigration / take back control yadda yadda.
So we are left with this small group of bigots who will forever be angry because their life sucks and it always will regardless of if we stay/leave/ or get out without a deal.....
They are the disenfranchised scum. I'd be embarrassed to stick up for them on principle that they are scum...
Leave did not need to do anything to win, the EU had already done enough to ensure enough people were against it when they told Cameron to get lost.

I think they're both bad and I think there is a double-standard in that Mogg's harassment didn't get the same amount of coverage.

Sometimes it takes a straw to break the camels back - this may be it, time will tell.

Oh and you don't need to "have twitter" to be able search Twitter or Google, the examples are easy to find.

I do not get how protesting against Anna Sonbry MP, who is a public servant and has chosen the stance she has.is as bad as harassing children of Jacob Rees Mogg.

Edit: As an unregistered user I can only see the twites the account holder I am searching has posted, unless there is a different way?

It's ok as it seems to have vanished off the front pages just as quickly as a smokescreen can
If that dastardly Bercow creature hadnt done what he did then the concerns raised would have been able to dominate for a few days longer

Both were repellent- JRM's however involved minors. That makes it worse (on an admittedly stty scale)

I went to spiked/sky/google, couldn't see it. I'd like to verify his claims. I recognise him from PL and my memory has him as someone who is normally deceptive/disingenuous (an animus as Jordan Peterson describes), but I'd like to see the vid for myself

But we’re still allowed to think harassing MPs on the streets is bang out of order?

A podcast by a journalist who feels politicians should not dismiss those with a different opinion, even though those they are a supposed to be dismissing in turn dismiss the politicians opinion?

And a journalist who talks about democracy and sovereignty but not when it comes to Parliament and Brexit.

There really is nothing more convincing than anecdotal evidence.
