Poor MPs being bullied outside parliament

A group of big blokes, physically intimidating a middle aged lady...
Small point in the scheme of things, and I'm not quite saying you're doing the same, but they keep being referred to as big blokes and therefore physically intimidating. (Ignoring even the gender difference).I think we should try to be more specific about the behaviour we don't want than emotively about their size. Otherwise it sounds like it's ok for small people to behave that way and not ok for anyone larger than Anna Soubry to tell her in person that they don't like her politics.

Some on this thread are absolutely desperate to defend and make excuses for someone attacking an MP on the "other side" of an issue to them. False equivalence is their favoured tactic.
It is the utter hypocritic nature of it.I remember 2017 and the conservative party conference and the gauntlet MP's and journalists alike had to run in order to enter a barrage of abuse, eggs and other missiles in scenes that were far far worse than the soubry incident, yet those now saying it is bad were silent then.

It’s a bit different though isn’t it. A group of big blokes, physically intimidating a middle aged lady (who i’m sure could look after herself, but that’s irrelevant )
Scum, hope they make an example of them..
No it's not. An offence is an offence regardless of the size of the perpetrators or the sex and age of the victim.Scum, hope they make an example of them..

I agree. You read some of the rubbish posted here and have to wonder what the world's coming to, I despair of the state we find ourselves in, so much ignorance and hate out there.gazza285 said:

Who here wouldn’t agree with this list?
There are things on there that we should be having more discussions about. But the way he and his type are going about it is just wrong.

I would hope most on here would stand against a great deal of the things on that list, and not for...
Of course, homelessness, veteran suicides etc. are all legitimate but I don't get how anyone can hope to get those addressed by yelling "Nazi" in someone's face as you lose all credibility.irocfan said:
Indeed - however, that seems to be the MO of the far right (in particular). Reel you in with non-objectional bits n Bob's, then there'll be the bit about "muso's" being the cause of kiddy-fiddling... or Poles taking are [sic] jobs... "muso's" doing xyz... French being, well French and then the drip, drip, drip of bigger falsehoods can start
I'm with them on the musician thing, never trust an arts major.4:22 "we've told the Tories that we will oppose them in our communities and we will oppose them on the streets, because these streets are our streets and always will be"

What exactly could John McDonnell mean by this? Would that be the same way Anna Soubry was opposed on the streets?
