Yeah, get out there and do some work. How dare you retire from duties at 97yo, f-ing lazy! I don’t care about your well documented I’ll health and operations.

FFS.

He's clearly happy to keep the company car.

Do Land Rover supply them with special cars that don’t beep like crazy if you try to drive above 15kph? They could be in breach of EU Regs.

The sun will be at approximately the same position today at around 2.50 pm, a passing PHer could stand at near to the collision scene and observe.

Its not a company car. Like celebs, they are fortunate enough to have people give them things for free.

LR have got great publicity from this: theif vehicle ends up on its side, thd frail, elderly driver emerges unscathed. Very safe vehicles to have a crash in. Richard branson agreed, too...

I would imagine that it was reasonably hard serving for six years throughout the entirety of WW2

I would imagine it was quite hard commanding a frigate in the Mediterranean fleet in the late 40s/early 50s

I would imagine it was quite hard setting up the DoE award scheme and leading it for 60 years

I would imagine it was quite hard chairing the WWF for several decades, balancing effective campaigning and the absolute personal requirement to be globally politically impartial

I would imagine that it was quite hard being consort to the head of state, undertaking c. 400 official engagements a year for 65 years

I would imagine it was quite hard working to the age of 95 despite a severe heart condition, arthritis and a number of other debilitating illnesses

I’m sure that’s what the Royalists believe, but please let’s not let facts get in the way. This hugely privileged old fart has led a very simple existence at the tax payers expense.

There are other variables / unknowns e.g. elevation of sun above the horizon, obstruction, local topography. Streetview offers some clues.

Various websites provide azimuth and elevation.

Fairly sure they wouldn't, once they had determined it was an accident rather than a deliberate attempt at crashing in to a member of the royalty anyway.

Bearing in mind the inability of those we elect to think of anyone but themselves I am glad we have the royal family, gawd help us if we had an elected person instead.
Fairly sure that even Diane Abbott is better at arithmetic than Prince Andrew?

The sun clearly wasn't in a position to make it difficult for a reasonably competent driver to get a clear view of vehicles approaching from the north.

Sure, he may have arrived at the junction and decided to stare at the sun before looking in the two directions from which traffic was approaching, but I doubt a court would accept that in mitigation here.

Have the press caused any crashes yet by being there reporting way after the event has happened, have the council charged them for parking there yet for all that pollution they are creating

One does not operate ones own sun visor, positively vulgar. Next you'll be expecting one to cook!

well, the Royal Family contribute several times what they cost to the national pot.
so a "company car" is fine by me.
remove them on principle, i understand that, but which public services will you cut?
