Netflix, iPad Pro & audio latency

Wasn’t sure whether to put this here or the telly section but here it is.
We bought my daughter a 10.5” iPad Pro for Christmas and I borrow it occasionally to watch netflix. I use a set of plantronics V6200 series Bluetooth headset but also a plantronics V8200 series over ear headset. Both have this issue.
This issue is not present on my iPhone 7 or any other device so I can only assume it’s a problem with the iPad and / or the Netflix app.
More often than not the sound delay is about a second out of sync with the video, for a short spell last night watching a film it was fine but tonight it seems worse than ever.
iOS is up to date as is the firmware on all headsets.
Has anyone got any experience of the same? Googling suggest perhaps a Bluetooth version mismatch but I don’t think I can downgrade or upgrade just the Bluetooth versions on the iPad or headset.
