If a referendum means nothing, why vote?
Exactly, where is the issue for 'not bothering'. Many people I spoke to have lost complete faith in the government now. Any of them.

Got to agree with this. It's a total clusterfk, nobody has the slightest idea what to do, how to do it or what the consequences may be, looked at impartially the only sensible approach is to call it off and try to work out what the hell is going on.

Anyone live in Maidenhead? Lord Buckethead will be an option, unless of course May isn't PM at this election. He'll stand in whichever constituency the incumbent PM sits. My money's on it being David Lidington as caretaker PM.

I clicked Brexit Party but it would be a toss up between UKIP and Brexit party depending on which one is the more genuine Brexit party. I think UKIP have gone a bit too Tommy Robinson to qualify as a decent party but if the current government won't enact what they were voted to do then we'll vote in one that does. In any case I suspect May knows the deal, so to as speak, and will get us out of the EU with a minor delay.

That doesn't make sense, which is probably why we are in this mess, there was no plan for a Brexit that benefits the population, in fact there never was a plan, you just had Farrage and UKIP spouting nonsense. Why would you vote for a Conservative party and have Johnson, Gove or their ilk as PM. and as for a Brexit party you may as well go and vote for a Rave party.......at least you could have a bit of fun.

The point is that the Conservative party will always have a Remain biased leader. I think we will end up with some kind of coalition after the next election, or a very narrow victory for the Conservative party. A Brexit party with say 10-15 seats in parliament will give those who voted to leave a voice. They may end up in coalition with the Conservatives. Unless the Conservatives jump in bed with a TIG 'Blairite' party if it ever gets off the ground. I think the Brexit party will attract a lot of votes from both ends of the spectrum.

Personally, the issue remains whether a Brexit candidate would be 'worth' voting for in my constituency (S Leicestershire, a blue farming region).

^This only "shower of bds" on mine.

Which IMHO is putting it politely if succinctly, compared to my actual view.

Christ.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the media (both social and MSM) anyone who stands for the Brexit Party, particularly in a higher position will be subject to having every SJW in the country trying to dig up dirt on them.

If it weren't for this fact, I'd put myself forward, but there are things in my past (from a long time ago) that I'd rather like to keep in the past.

They will be under far more microscopes than any other current MP or candidate, probably even more so than a UKIP candidate (UKIP was properly sunk when they brought in the likes of Tommy Robinson).

I couldn't vote for anything Nigel Farage is involved in after he was photographed with Fraser Anning.

I would never vote tory or Labour as they don't represent the electorate IMO and are more focused on Party survival than the people they serve. I would head towards one of the parties with a good social and green manifesto but most importantly, a focus on jobs. Is there a party that can offer that?

I think that brexit will get cancelled one way or another, so no point in voting for anybody really. I would think about the Monster Raving Loony Party though, just for a laugh. I voted the Roman Party in a European election once: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Party

Maybe we need a confessions thread, and we can vote if we think the individual should be forgiven/re-deemed could be a lot of fun biggrin

I know, really scraping the barrel having to back all the way to 2018 for examples of the leader of the party's racism. Aren't people allowed to make mistakes any more? We've all done things in the past we regret etc etc....
