Pure fantasy.

And you forget, other than not wishing to leave the EU with no deal, parliament cannot agree on any form of deal. It would not have mattered what May brought back.
I believe that if more people had understood, and accepted, that the utter fantasy of a no deal Brexit had been taken off the table some time ago, that we would have already left.
Yep.

However, I think the tory ERG ultras would need an enormous amount of convincing.....
They are the 'useful idiots' that have this far kept us in the EU.
^What a cosy little bubble. biggrin

The fact is, parliament can do what it likes WRT stamping its feet about no deal, but in the end, the decision of the EU has authority; the can force that outcome, irrespective of the time we wasted on 'taking no deal off the table'.

Surely there's no reason to keep talking about Brexit now there's another extension?

The time to bring it back onto the table is about a week before the deadline, then ask for another extension. Isn't that what May's plan is?

I don't think it's just May's Plan - I think the majority of all MP's are adopting a can kicking approach in the hope that eventually people will be so jaded with the situation they'll just accept staying as an easier option biggrin

I was chatting with a university lecturer the other day who earnestly informed me that the BBC were hard right supporters of Brexit and a mouthpiece of 'Brextermists'.

You seem to be living in a similar bubble if you think the ERG Dads Army are "ultras".

Still, I guess it helps to have a baddy to rail against.

Certainly appears to be the case, it’s failing though with the leavers entrenching and reinforcements in the shape of Brexit Party spoiling the remainers treacherous plan. biggrin

It's these lecturers that are feeding the young brains that the EU is a good idea.

Brainwashing at it's best.

If comprehension of a political system needs to be taught, it is pretty much that.

Did either of you experience any of it first hand when you went?

Never got to Uni, but my college lecturers in economics and politics were all fully paid up lefties. Guardian was the default newspaper for all the college lecturers. Thatcher was in No 10 so they were all fairly vocal about their political beliefs.

I'm confused here - So everyone who goes to uni gets brainwashed into being a leftie liberal?
Or what?

Let me guess - those are the ones who don't have a left wing view point.

Questioning whether Remainers have lost their perspective

It's a yes they have from me, reliance on group think under their comfort blankets and ignoring academic evidence which doesn't fit their agenda, indeed it seems so.

There is some group think and evidence avoidance on Leave shoulders too, but Remain should be asking themselves some questions and not just doubling down with previously failed tactics.

Only weak minded people get brainwashed.

I am sure that right wing nutters brainwash people all the time, but the question was specifically about left wing university lecturers, and clearly they would influence weak minded people within their orbit of influence.

Rightly or wrongly I have always seen youth as wanting to change the status quo. Ambition
energised with a young mind surrounded by like minded individuals on a daily basis. Blame the hippies of the 1960’s, look at how that turned out (I’m guilty) most are now burned out retiree’s refereed to as ‘gammon’. biggrin

OK, so the intelligent types who go to uni are brainwashed into thinking the EU is a good idea. Very sweeping statement but if we're playing that game, should I surmise that those who think the EU is a bad idea are also brainwashed? Not by intellectuals mind, by Kieth and Dave down the local Wetherspoons.

Some in the UK couldn't give a stuff about where a trading border would have to go in the event we had a hard Brexit. So it is good to see others such as the US do not want to see a hard border between the north and south either
Wtf has is got to do with the US?
you may need to do some reading.
