Climate Rebellion - the organisation who want us all to be poorer.

" all you need to know about Extinction Rebellion – it is, above all else, a movement of students and left-wing academics. "

"How utterly predictable that Extinction Rebellion should have re-emerged this week to block streets with its boats. You just have to ask yourself what happened last week: most universities broke up for the summer. The group’s activities have now settled into something of a pattern. When universities are on vacation we get these big protests, sucking in protesters from all over the country. During term-time, on the other hand, we get small protests in university towns as we had in Cambridge, Oxford and Edinburgh in May and June."

According to chummie on Radio 4 this morning they are Marxist/Anarchists whose longer term aim is to destroy state, capitalism, and the economy. Climate change is not their interest but a tool to motivate the dumb masses to do the dirty work. Useful idiots once more.

Did anyone think anything different?

It is obvious what their agenda is.

Nobody, even on here, seems to see the truth. It has f**k all to do with the climate. But all the silly schoolkids and the brain-dead idle chatterers think (?) they are sincere and genuine. They grew out of RisingUp! an unabashed pseudo Marxist rabble. BBC et al are feeding their cause by taking their drivel seriously.

I've just been reliably informed they are going to target the swingbridges on Friday

That is going to be utter chaos - and extremely dangerous when the boats can't access the lock

I've heard that too. As you say, the tide doesn't hang round on the river and with all the boats due in for the harbour festival, that could get very nasty very quickly.

Large fire in Bristol now too. As if the emergency services don't have enough to do

I've always thought that they were watermelons - nothing happening to make me believe otherwise

Target for Friday is apparently the M32 junction with the A4174 (ring road) at Hambrook and the roundabout outside MoD Abbey Wood.

How many of us who live locally have rear wheel drive cars who would be happy to go down and do a collective group burnout in their faces?

The puppetmasters are the watermelons - if indeed they actually care about any environmental matters over anarchy, but the protesters are in the main hoodwinked but well meaning. They have been wound up and set free by the faceless ones behind the scenes. If they truly knew the motivation they would not be blocking roads, etc.

That's the official one. Looking like the Plimsoll Bridge on Cumberland Basin too.

Unfoubtedly some useful fodder types have what they think is a genuine motive but by no meals all do.

Dr Patrick Moore cofounder of Greenpeace said:
There were always extreme, irrational and mystical elements within our movement, but they tended to be kept in their place during the early years. Then in the mid-Eighties the ultraleftists and extremists took over. After Greenham Common closed and the Berlin Wall came down these extremists were searching for a new cause and found it in environmentalism.

The once politically centrist, science-based vision of environmentalism has been largely replaced with extremist rhetoric. Science and logic have been abandoned and the movement is often used to promote other causes such as class struggle and anti-corporatism.

Just heard that on the news. Sounds like chaos with the fire at Cribs too. Guess it's just Cumberland Basin tomorrow then.

Uh, yes you did? The whole point is to disrupt people. Some of those people will have bad things happen to them on the day you decide to disrupt them. Does she need a diagram? rolleyes

Abbeywood today, M32 at Hambrook tomorrow is most likely. My neighbour works at Dick Lovett, between XR and the fire over there I don’t know how he’ll get to work laugh
