I was in left wing Brighton at the weekend & a wall had a crappy stenciled grafiti pic of Gretta saying 'Will you help me' or something. Thought it looked like a Poundland Banksy.
The very next day, someone had rollered over the whole thing and put on a highly seasonably irrelevant message about Christmas. I did chortle.

Bristol City Council is looking for a Climate Emergency Project Manager.
https://jobs.bristol.gov.uk/vacancy/climate-emerge...
I've read through the job description and it seems suitably vague, so there probably isn't any real work involved.
It's a healthy wage considering the mayor was writing to the Government in December saying the council was at financial breaking point, cutting vital services and in need of more money.

They will struggle to find anyone, since all the best people on climate change are hard at work in China, Indonesia, Brazil and so on, where there is far more damage being done than here, and where the need is so much greater, aren't they.
Oh no wait, they're not ...
D'oh.
In other news, I was interested to note on the photos of St. Greta's arrival into New York yesterday, that not only has the megayacht been kitted out with newly printed sails bearing the campaign branding, but all the crew including St. Greta had smart new branded sailing jackets featuring the slogan too. Wonder what the cost to the planet of getting all that lot made up was?

No plastic in sight surely. otherwise Atty might not like it.Anyway even if they (and the new outfits) were made from cotton or other all-natural fibres, that's still a shedload of precious water been used up to grow the stuff, and a load of energy used up in the fabrication and transportation, not to mention the total affront to "reuse not single use" mantra that either making the new stuff just for one voyage or throwing away the perfectly good previous/old stuff is.

Seems to be lost on her defenders that her husband is white and is receiving just as much criticism as her!!
Isn’t she 1/2 Caucasian ?Edited by HTP99 on Wednesday 21st August 19:00
so is the so called racism directed at her ‘anti white bogan’ or ‘anti Afro-american’
could be either - right?
Bristol is a soft touch and they have lots of support here, maybe not direct support but lots of sympathetic middle class types whom they won’t inconvenience. The Council then exacerbate the situation and create a nonsense job on nearly £40k pa!
This time they are blocking the A38 near Bristol Airport in protest against the expansion plans, these are the same people who have enjoyed 20 years of cheap flights all over Europe on budget airlines....

Team flying out to the US to retrieve Greta's yacht. But don't worry, they will pay off their sins with the offsets.
