From Greta Thunberg's Facebook page.
"Police have banned peaceful, nonviolent Extinction Rebellion protests in London.
Amnesty UK says it is “an unlawful constraint of our rights to Freedom of Expression and peaceful assembly.”
If standing up against the climate and ecological breakdown and for humanity is against the rules then the rules must be broken".
I am struggling to see how this isn't encouraging the commission of an offence. I know that it will give them martyrs and a platform but that might be preferable. "Police have banned peaceful, nonviolent Extinction Rebellion protests in London.

Greta Thunberg doesn't have to endure a horrible commute to work, or worry about losing pay for being late, or put food on the table and pay the bills, or support a family. She's an inconsiderate, ill informed zealot
I once wrote similar on one of the XR facebook pages, someone wrote back words to the effect of 'Your commute to work will end with rising tides, famine and death' or words to that effect. Some of them have turned it into a death cult/end of the world religion.
personally I wish they all fk off and get back to work and help the world go around.... wkers!

I was out on an mtb ride on Saturday. Group of us of various ages. Towards the end of the ride, on the way to the pub, a young 20 ish lad who rides with us was asking me about climate change (apropos of XR in news) saying he was worried. (The irony of me dishing out adult...)
This is a kid who will send the biggest jumps, gaps and drops without hesitation. I told him panic helps no one and nothing. The science does not say it's 10 to Doomsday, and also that there is minimal influence we in the West have - the real changes need to come from the East. The environment is important, but there are a great many aspects to that, which we're all responsible for.
These people have an agenda and are using the environment as a Trojan Horse to enable their Marxist, anti-capitalist aims.

What solutions are XR offering? No, don't tell me, we have stay at home all our lives and be miserable, cold and hungry and then die.

Have you seen that one of the demonstrators is trying to answer people's questions in the comments section? He seems like the typical lecturing middle class guy with a nice house, nice car and salaried job and his concession to the environment is ordering a vegetable box from the local farmer. He then uses his days off to stop working class people getting to their jobs, risking them getting their wages docked or them losing their jobs altogether, when they probably have less negative impact on the environment than he does because they simply can't afford the luxuries he has.
