Not bothered either way tbh. Would have another 997 in a heartbeat but feel as if I should be doing a little more. Maybe a hybrid this time.

What matters is that we have all been challenged to do more.
rofl confirmation, if anyone needed it, that everything you post on any topic is a wind up. good darts smile

On the plus side. Most of the ?? Ph posters will be dead and public opinion gradually swayed by the science.

A few years of crop failures and water shortages with consequent cost increase will turn the public firmly against the remaining few flat earth types.
Why do you keep calling people who don't agree with you 'flat earth types'?

Again, like banana, it's some sort of holier than you attitude.
It's deeply amusing when you discover the Flat Earth Society's views on Climate Change.

I'm guessing that if ships & planes are banned, carbon will be drastically cut. What do the crusties suggest as an alternative?

We try and learn as more information becomes available.

Built a very low energy house with flat roof for PVs.

Drive an hybrid less than 3000 miles a year. Smart car before that.

At least that’s a start.

What are you doing?
I simply don't believe the claims made for PV panels, solar thermal panels, biomass etc. Our building has solar thermal panels, which contribute less than 2% to domestic hot water, & even then, only in summer. Oh, & they were shipped from China & include a complex control system that is forever going wrong & a massive copper heat store. 'Green' it ain't.
As for hybrids: are lithium batteries really greener than petrol?????

Wellll...tomorrow I'm going drive my scooby to London (carefully skirting around all that idle hippies, congestion charge and ulez bks), round to Docklands where I'll be sorting out some equipment in one of those filthy, power hungry data centre thingies that the modern world can't do without. It'll be great. I might even exceed the speed limit. biggrin

You are still contributing to the death of the earth as normal then. nono

Built a house. hehe Why not live in a house already built? Building a new house consumes extra nasty materials.

Hybrid car. Nasty batteries. Uses power probably generated by something that kills the earth too.

Just as I thought, hypocrite.

I thought a good climate change pioneer like you would get rid of everything and be living amongst the trees by now.

Oh yes, you don't try and learn. How can you learn any more when you said the science is done?
Your anger will do your health no good at all.

What are you doing btw? Perhaps you want answers from others but never contribute yourself.

What anger? I'm finding this highly amusing. hehe

I'll tell you what I'm doing, I'm refraining from ramming the man made climate change bullst down other people's throats.

I'm also having fun with a hypocrite. smile

Edited to add - in all honesty Nick, I'm doing the same as you - killing the earth. I just don't bleat on about how I'm one of the saviours.

Quite a lot of research has been undertaken sail powered container ships. China has invested quite a bit in developing high altitude solar powered airships.

I’m sure you will have huge sympathy for the driver of the speeding car should one of your children be unfortunately hit by one.

I knew many of the DCs in Docklands btw. Bank or Télé hotel?

I saw many of the 'real' hippies back in the 60s and 70s at rock events and even they weren't as daft nor as misguided as today's bunch of cretins blocking the streets of London.
You could even converse with them back then, when they weren't starkers that is or high as kites!

Just like the 'End is Nigh' Jesus placard bearers who stamped the streets of London daily in the same two decades. The difference was they were harmless as they walked along continually preaching their 'End' gospel.
(which, naturally, may I remind you never materialised!).

The same can't be said for this disruptive shower - that's what it appears a good number of them need!

Look at the ones still up high in the trees in Parliament Square. They've been up there 9 days now I think (what the fk do they do for a living - can you tell me, do you know?). I suspect (and realise) a good number of them do the disruptive anarchy thing for a living and have been doing so for some time.
One of the 'tree dwellers' was asked by a reporter what would happen if he fell?
He was astute enough in his reply: he said he'd die! laugh
Looking at the height he was, I'd have to agree.
Still, when he comes down he'll need to have a shower or a bath. Wonder what he/they do with their daily wees and dumps? What a thought, eh?
Christ a f'live, and 'you' want people like 'me' to listen 'seriously' to f jerks like these?

Oh, and somebody tell this one that the agenda changed - it's 'Climate Change' - 'global warming' went out of the window ages back, bit like the 'ozone layer' did, and then 'acid rain' et al. Not topical anymore so dropped. Follow the money trail...

Global Switch.

And as for the kids playing on the M1, they've been taught not to.

Those things aren't topical anymore because action was taken and the causes addressed, at least in europe.

you must be a slow learner nick. the official science as it stands on climate sensitivity to an increase in co2 hasn't changed in 100 years. why haven't you been paying attention until now ?

Out of interest, has Global Warming actually killed anyone yet?
