Paris firefighting crews are considered the very best in the world for large cities. The problem they have is the structure of the building which is entirely made of wood and suck up the water and risk of collapsing at any moment. That the reason they do not use their planes or helicopter. The firefighting crews are inside the Cathedral but their main mission is to make the area safe and try to save the art work. This is an extremely difficult situation.
I'll try to keep you updated.

Is there a live stream somewhere? The link above doesn't work.
https://www.pscp.tv/w/1MYGNdbVeqRxwI'm reading comment from the authorities that is an 'accident', so was it one of the construction workers or more responsible up on the scaffolding? They've been removing works from up there for a while now.
Or more sinister?
There has been a spate of attacks on Catholic churches etc this year.
