The estimated death toll has been adjusted downward to a figure of approximately 252 now. The rather gruesome reason for this adjustment being that the bodyparts running total were miscalculated.

Foreign Office has advised against all but essential travel to the whole of Sri Lanka now

So if you have a holiday booked there in the near future, better get it cancelled, because I don't think your travel insurance will cover you any more now that that advice is in place. I imagine a load of flight schedules will be getting cancelled shortly.

Bad news for Sri Lanka tourism.

I can't recall hearing about it but....

After the terrible NZ far right attack on a Mosque, Sadiq Khan stepped up security outside London mosques. Did he step security outside churches and in hotels after the Sri Lanka attacks?

Now the Sri Lankan authorities are having to deal with anti-muslim mob violence.

"A Muslim mas was slashed to death in Sri Lanka Monday, police said after imposing a nationwide curfew to contain a violent new backlash against Easter suicide bombings.

The 45-year-old man died shortly after admission to a hospital in Puttalam district during anti-Muslim rioting which began Sunday in the area, a police official told AFP."

"Sri Lanka on Monday temporarily banned social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube and instant messaging apps like Snapchat, Viber, WhatsApp, and IMO after a Facebook post sparked attacks on mosques and businesses owned by Muslims across several towns on Sunday.

The move comes three weeks after Islamic bombers killed at least 300 people in the country, sparking fears of sectarian violence against the country’s minority Muslim population."

Is the outcome increased security and protection for Muslims yet again ?

They are killed - more protection / security

They kill people - more protection and security???

The ones who are being killed aren’t the ones who did the killing.
