hi all, I was thinking of replacing my injectors on my 2007 335i and a few things I'm not sure about. firstly they seem to range massively in price anything from 30 quid each off ebay obviously from china, to 300 quid for 3 recon ones, or 300 quid EACH from euro car parts, minus discount codes obviously, I'll pay what ever they cost but I don't believe in paying more than I need to as I like value for money so what is a fair price for these? can they be reconditioned, I was under the impression from some folks on here that they couldn't?, Also is it as easy a swap as SOME youtube clips make out? as others suggest they need coding and lastly there seems to be 2 types, it seems that some are a slightly different design, is it that on my year of car they will be one or the other, or is it the case I have to take one out and look to double check? Thanks guys

Might be worth reading this e90post thread: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15... - summary appears to be that there's two part numbers for the N54 injectors, one for you (££££), and one for BMW franchises to use when doing mandatory recalls (merely ££).

Cheapest place I’ve found for gen BMW injectors is carparts4less when they have a discount code on.

Don’t forget that you need a new decoupling element for each injector, BMW only.

Thanks for the info, probably more confused now after sifting through the available links I get the impression there are various versions and part numbers (index 6, 9 and 12??? what is that?), however one link did say they were £500 a set, but how do I know if they are for my car? is it as easy a job to fit as some clips i've seen make out?

They were more than that last time I bought some, can’t remember exactly I’m afraid. They are in theory straight forward to change though I have had one seized one which I had to remove with a slide hammer. New no from the top of injector needs inputting to the DME.

yeah some of the clips I saw recommend a slide hammer, I think they're 40 quid for the tool but other guys seem to be able to pull them out with a sturdy hook of some kind

10 Decoupling element 13537564751 £ 8.10. That's for 6. didn't come up with the price of the injectors on the BMW site, maybe cos I couldn't be bothered to go and check my vin number and just manually put my details in. So it's as simple as that then, pull them out carefully and put the new ones in? after removing all the other necessities too obviously

But not as good as £98 each delivered, for the injector AND the de-coupler, from BMW: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2456...

Basically, there are two part numbers for the injectors - one for the public (expensive) and one for BMW (cheap) to use when doing all the "product enhancements" rolleyes

Some useful reading: https://blog.fcpeuro.com/difference-between-direct...

Hope that helps.

Remember seeing that price on e90post and couldnt believe it. Crazy cheap. In fact I think I asked right away for a price for n53 injectors and they were at least double, so it's like the internal/external pricing doesn't exist for n53. Or that n54 quote was a slip up once off...

They've been quoting that price since 2017 yes

Maybe there was a recall on the F10 M5 for injectors? If so, that'll be why the N54 ones are so cheap, as they are the same part.

N53 are N53 only iirc.

The s63tu (f10 m5) doesn't use piezo injectors. You are thinking of the N63 engine which does use the same injectors as n54. I get your point though, perhaps the north american use of the n63 created enough of an economy of scale to bring the price of those injectors down. The n53 are a different part though they look the same. I suspect the flow pattern is more precise on n53 than n54.

Why is it only me that cant seem to locate these injectors at the prices you guys can find them for, despite me typing in part numbers, looking at the links provided, I've came up with nothing, technology clearly doesn't like me!!!

You need to join e90post, then post in this thread to ask Cotswold BMW for a price: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12...

On the link now I must be missing something as there doesn't seem to be an option on there to open a new topic in that thread just a reply to ones that already seem to be there, or is that where I go?

You just reply to the thread, then Cotswold will quote your post with the pricing, they go on there most days.
