I agree, yet somehow people actually think that the everyday "western" person sees SA as the good guys when in reality most people really don't care.

I'd guess that the original SA intervention was done for "good" reasons (the Yemeni government was overthrown by Shia Jihadists and SA was asked for help to reverse this) but the way SA has indiscriminatly used it's aerial weapons whilst getting foreign child soldiers to fight the ground war has rapidly soured peoples opinions, as well as a lot of what the SA royalty has been doing to journalists and, well anyone who insults MBS really.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the drones were controlled operated from an Iranian naval base in the Gulf.

Iran is just across the water from KSA eastern province ( eg: Al Khobar / oil installation area ).

A drone is able to be controlled so direction of attack surprisingly can be different from direction travelled.

Slightly ironically Saudi Arabia is more or less completing the Jizan oil refinery and port which is based on the Red Sea side of the country to remove some of the threat of blockages by Iran in the straights of hormuz.

Unfortunately it is not many miles from the Yemen border.

As time goes on you think maybe the damage is actually quite minor . Big clouds of smoke dont really mean much.
A great way to engineer a retaliation against Iran. SA and USA have been trying for ages with these illogical ship attacks blamed
on Iran.
Bolton 'sacked' the other day to make it look like trump is reluctantly taking action rather than part of a nefarious plan.

They’re not but they’re better than the even worse guys that they keep repressed. If the Saudi royal family were deposed it would open a can of worms. It looks like Oman will suffer a similar fate soon enough as Qaboos is on his last legs with no heir. Power vacuums and the Middle East don’t sit well together.

The "suicide" type drones shown in the pics above are not externally guided/controlled but are more akin to a poor man's cruise missile where they are programmed with GPS co-ordinates to "hit" and launched without further guidance/control.

If I had to suggest what was happening it would be one of two things, both just guesswork - either the Iranians have some teams of SF types roaming the desert launching these drones or it's an "inside job" neither of which makes for the situation calming down.

what is the upside for war with Iran, for me I see it as war would see attacks on oil infrastructure which would cause a spike in the price that Saudi might not benefit from. Deaths on both sides could be what in the 10s of thousands. The spill over as Sunni and Shia take sides could further increase the body count. Any foreign intervention would invite terror attacks, think World Trade Centre, Madrid Train bombing, Paris concert attack, London bombings etc.

So what does either side get from this.

The Saudis want to put the Iranians" back in their box". They;re concerned about the spreading Shia influence in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain, and the Yemen. Israel also sees Iran as its' only potential rival in the region and is extremely worried about Iran developing nukes (at the moment it can bomb Iranian targets at will, not so easy if they might nuke you) . It suits both of them to get the US to give the Iranians a good kicking.
