Agreed, but Brexit isn’t the disaster predicted-peddled by the remain side.

And his fixation with Brexit as the root of all evils is pathetic. It was six years ago, and you lost: get over it, man!
What, like the Eurosceptics got over the 1975 vote, and we never heard another peep from them rofl

From day one after the '75 vote, for 41 years they never STFU. All thru Thatcher's time they did everything possible to undermine Europe and erode the public's confidence. As was their democratic right. No one has to just shut up and lump the result of any vote. Eventually the eroded confidence to such an extent, they forced a 2nd vote and won it. As the outgoing PM might say, them's the breaks.

But now it's our turn. I'm 59, so doubt I've got 41 years left, but I will never stop undermining Brexit, and eroding confidence in the liars that brought it to us. It's been 6 years now and I'm quite enjoying it. The fact that it triggers so many rabid brexiteers is even better.

Ps.

And as each year rolls on you will continue to become ever more irrelevant. However, I respect your Right to grumble.

This is not the thread for it, but it has been masked to. An extent by other world events, it has created obstacles that were not there before and brought no substantial improvements.

Our home-grown, elected government, who were never really hindered anyway, and their own unelected bureaucrats have not exactly been wonderful in the past few years anyway.

There was no point to it.

Campbell; moaning tt, won't let go of Brexit and never tires of calling the people who voted leave stupid, like that will change their minds.
Man-bun; doesn't understand HS2, doesn't understand how money works, complains fruitlessly on that basis of ignorance.

Sounds like you and Alastair might get on well!
For clarity, I voted Remain and haven't changed my mind. I think we should make the best of what the country decided, however, and look forwards. I also think that constantly referring back to the EU referendum is divisive, and division is the last thing we need.

But we are divided. No point in lying about it. But hopefully, as the years roll on, and Brexit becomes more and more of a calamity, we will become less divided, as people disown in. I've no doubt it'll become like the Iraq war. That had an 85% approval rating when Saddam's statue was being toppled, but as it turned to st, an ever reducing number of people admit to ever supporting it. These days, no one was in favour, apart from Blair and Campbell. In 20 years time, I suspect you'll struggle to find a single person who will admit to voting leave.

Good post, Totally agree with that. I do wonder what difference it makes to the type of person that sits posting all day long, if this place is all they have going on in their lives maybe all those 'relentless' posters we see constantly hammering the threads just like moaning furious, surely the people who are genuinely being impacted by brexit are not sitting on PH all day, are they?

51:38 (with 11 undecided) of those surveyed believe it was a mistake (latest polling this month). Strip out the unknowns and it is 57:43. That differential has never been larger, and appears to be widening daily.

48:40 (with 12 undecided) of those surveyed would vote Remain today - 55:45 without unknowns. Again, that's never been larger.

You can tell how bad it is - the Express ran a poll asking their readers if it should be illegal ever to have another referendum on re-admission smile

The population really isn't letting this go.

Are you a rabid remainer, then?
Still, whatever butters your bread I suppose.

Polite but very assertive, putting Cambell back in his box, very refreshing.

But needs a wider vocabulary instead of being " optimistic " about the future.
I agreed with her but must have said optimistic at least 30 times in her reply.

She wasn't very inspiring. I wonder if the Tories will retain the NE seats?

You can re-run the referendum in your mind as often as you wish. It won't change the actual result. And again, for clarity, I voted Remain.
The population is, I believe, fundamentally democratic, and accepts the will of the majority. Something Alastair Campbell - and you, it seems - are unwilling to do. Well, tough. Them's the breaks.

Are you still reliving your horror of 2016? ‘The population’ has let this go years back now, it only a minority on the internet and a ‘red top’ or two stirring you up.

That's settled it. I'm definitely voting for Penny if I get a chance.
