tonights audience seem to have a very sensible approach and are generally not impressed with politicians, which ever party they represent !
It came through strongly from several in the audience that there is frustration at not being able to express no confidence in Boris directly. I thought the older lady was very firm on this.bomb said:

I didn't understand the audience whinging about second homes. Each one of thosesold to an outsider brings money into the area.
For a laugh, I had a look at some average house prices in some Northern and Scottish towns:
Kilmarnock 138K
MiddlesBoro 144K
Barrow 153K
Ok not tourist towns, so quite cheap. Looking at larger areas like counties
for a more balanced picture:
Durham County 154K
Cumbria 200K
Northumbria 201K
Some parts of those counties have some nice desirable bits. Higher prices, but still
not expensive.
Anyone like to guess at some prices in the much more desirable South West ?
Devon 300K
Exeter 314K
Cornwall 321K
In other words, relatively affluent. You can get two average houses in some grotty bits
of "Up North" compared to an average house somewhere average in the South West.
Folks in the South West whinging about being skint, food banks etc looks very bogus to me.
Folks Up North are demonstrably much poorer and probably smoke more tabs, drink more beer and
eat more chips and pies, to say nothing of being able to thrive in much colder weather.

You really don't understand? The outsider uses the house a few times every year or maybe rents it out to holidaymakers.
The local low-average earner cannot buy or live in the local house that a more wealthy person (pushing up prices too) from elsewhere has bought.
Some of our friends own second homes in holiday areas.
Ps. I'm not sure which area the QT audience were from.
The above are little seen promotional pictures for TV roles the 2 women were applying for.
The first is for a British version of JAG (The US Navy series). The series was never made due to casting concerns and finance issues.
The second was for the female driver in Foyles War. Ms Thornberry lost the role to Honeysuckle Weeks

Question Time BBC1 10.40pm. Thursday 22nd September
Us yokels know when winter is approaching. The grass no longer needs cutting, the trees lose their leaves There is a chill in the air and Question Time returns to Telly
Fiona Bruce is still in charge (well sort of) and the panel will probably consist of James Cleverley but not tonight……………..
Brendan Clarke-Smith – representing the Conservative Party
Wes Streeting the up and coming Labour chap feared by some Tories and Andy Burnham as a future leader
Striking a blow for the Liberal Democrats is Layla Moran
Claire Fox (no relation to James) is from the Academy of Ideas (no really)
Gerard Lyons is an Economist
There is no SNP or Green Party representative tonight

Brendan Clarke-Smith MP for Bassetlaw - will probably be tested over fracking
I think Wes Streeting's all right. Interesting story - seems like the real deal. Shame Labour are so bereft of talent that he can't do a bit of time on the back benches/committees and get out of short trousers before they fire him into the front line.
