As for trump and Shell, it was the local paper that reported the memo and the complaints from the workers being told to attend, no protests, being held in the room whilst trump toured the plant. Now NBC have also reported.

trump confirmed he wants greenland

Trump sought to tie the idea of a US purchase of the world’s largest island – not including the continent of Australia – to his own area of professional expertise, saying it would be “essentially a large real estate deal”.

“Denmark essentially owns it,” he said. “We’re very good allies with Denmark, we protect Denmark like we protect large portions of the world. So the concept came up and I said, ‘Certainly I’d be.’ Strategically it’s interesting and we’d be interested but we’ll talk to them a little bit. It’s not No1 on the burner, I can tell you that.”

Stephen Miller, an architect of many of the White House’s harshest immigration policies, said in a new interview that he felt a “jolt of electricity to my soul” when President Trump announced his candidacy.

Wasn't Frankensteins monster created the same way?

As the “Unpopular Opinions” thread has disappeared into the ether I’ll post this here.....whilst Miller’s policies may seem quite abhorrent from a humanitarian point of view a LOT of people (both GOP and Dems) will wholly support them.

Oh if you ignore the humanity, think that non americans are unimportant, then I'm sure separating children from their parents for ever as a deterrent sounded good to many. Another indication of how the US is still decades behind every other third world country...

The political analyst for Fox News has an interesting opinion piece, on how some Castro policies are hurting trump, revealing his large donors, attacking his racism on tv ads

How do these events work..

Does Trump get invited by Shell to go and have a tour, or does Trump (or his team) invite himself in?

I'm not so sure tbh. I think a lot of people will quietly be negative about immigration but not voice those comments publicly. I'm 2nd generation immigrant myself and I'm no longer surprised about the anti-immigration views espoused by some of my parent's generation, even though they were immigrants themselves. They'll regard the "newcomers" as primarily coming to the UK because of our amazing benefits system. Their views don't always stand up to any rational scrutiny but (like everybody else) if that's the message the media is constantly pumping out it does become "fact" after a while

Of course, except when he might have said nice things about Trump, he is attacking the Mooch now as well.

He's like a stuck record, I really think people are beginning to tire of the constant self centered whinging he constantly bleats out. Even a good proportion of people who voted for him think he's a bit of a dick now.
