My interpretation of subreddit being quarantined was that it wasn't just / only because of the hate speech and incitement, but that the moderators were failing to moderate as well. Removing the down-vote button (part of the entire Reddit ethos) and re-titling the Report button to Deport. Instead of moderating they appear to have been enabling.
Indeed. As well as the site-wide rules subreddits have their own content rules, as you'd expect really. The moderators are there to enforce those content rules. In the case of T_D the content rules are essentially that you're there to support Trump, so it follows that the mods will enable content that reflects Trumpism. They do this with relish - anyone posting criticism of Trump or attempting to debate from a MAGA-alternate viewpoint is pretty much banned instantly (the delightful irony of this is of course that they bill themselves as the 'last bastion of free speech' rolleyes). It also follows that enabling hardcore Trumpettes in this way will inevitably bring the sub rules into conflict with the site-wide rules, basically because so many Trump supporters are pieces of st.

Anyway what is glaringly evident from T_D is that hardcore Trumpettes don't like to be debated. They only want a mutually confirmatory circle jerk echo chamber with zero outside interference. Dissenters are insta-banned, no down-votes allowed, etc. I know some of the PH Trumpettes bleat about this thread being an echo chamber, but they're wrong because they are *constantly* invited to debate their position. They rarely do though, for some reason...

Even on the other thread when I commented on trump quoting the wrong Ayatollah one trumpette said the quote was rubbish, that he never said that. So I posted the video and then it 'wasn't important'

It's being blindingly obvious since the rise of Trump and other events in the "developed" world that attitudes have been moving in a general way towards those that proved popular in the 1930s - for very similar reasons too -

reaction to a major economic shock
lack of confidence in general democratic principles
distrust of "the establishment"
distrust and lack of faith in the institutions that allow democracies to function
polarisation and hardening of political views between more extreme alternatives

Trump isn't as extreme as Hitler or Mussolini but the logical underpinnings are the same, as is the direction of travel.
Mussolini and Hitler never started out as autocratic dictators. They had to do something to attract people to their cause to begin with. In both cases it was giving them someone to blame for all their woes (I.E. 1920: You're poor because the Jewish bankers have taken all your money. 2016: You're poor because the Mexicans have taken your jobs).

Giving the lazy, incompetent and/or stupid anyone else to blame gets the on board pretty quick. Especially if you're using an already disliked minority.

I don't see classical (Italian) fascism as the end goal of the far right in the US, rather crony capitalism where corporations essentially write law and any show of democracy is at best, a farce. Ultimately, I'm not worried about Trump. Trump is really just the front man, the patsy and ultimately if need be, the fall guy for the actual powerbrokers of the far right (people like the Koch's). Fortunately, Trump is hurting the far right far more than helping them at this point in time.

Also this is why I believe Trump will eventually be found not guilty of collusion. Even if he did take advantage of the situations provided by foreign governments I don't believe there will be enough evidence to say that he was involved in creating them. If there is not evidence beyond reasonable doubt, he must be acquitted. Other crimes he may end up putting Trump in the big house, most notably the number of bribes he's been taking, embezzling public money (both via his properties) and abusing his position as president for his own advantage.

Serious or not?
I think it’s one of those where, if challenged, he’ll say he was joking, whereas he knows he’s not.

Immigrant advocates are asking a federal judge to immediately require inspections and let doctors into border detention facilities where they say sleep-deprived, flu-stricken children are languishing in filthy conditions.

Doctors and lawyers who visited the facilities in recent weeks outlined several damning examples in a court filing late Wednesday that puts more pressure on the Trump administration to improve conditions for immigrant children. Lawyers are also asking for the prompt release of children to parents and close relatives and for the government to be found in contempt of court.

I wouldn't put it past him pulling a Skase. He's just setting up his defence as to why he cant be extradited back to the US from whatever tropical paradise he's too sick to leave.

Any defence lawyer worth their slimy suit would be advising him to look as haggard as possible to illicit sympathy, so at the very least he can be declared too unwell to be sent to prison.
