Still doing it. The GOP are now st scared they are going to lose the senate

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the self-declared “Grim Reaper” for progressive legislation, has urged GOP incumbents to position themselves as a “firewall” against ideas being pitched by the field of Democratic presidential candidates.

The “firewall” narrative has trickled down to battleground Senate races, with GOP incumbents seizing on McConnell’s message.

"The socialism charge in particular works well with some of the soft Republican voters, suburban voters that Republicans have struggled with in the Trump era… so I think you'll see a lot of Republican candidates talk about the Senate being the last firewall,” said a national GOP strategist watching the Senate races.

trumps going to add $4.1trillion to the national debt

Once President Trump signs the budget deal that was passed by the House on Thursday and is expected to be approved by the Senate in a few days, he will have added $4.1 trillion to the national debt, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. It's amazing how brazen his lying is. He's actually composed an angry tweet saying the bedbug story is fiction perpetrated by the 'Radical Left Democrats'.

A quick Google confirms they settled for bedbugs at the property as recently as 2017!

Does he actually think nobody is going to check?

China is still saying trump lied and they had no phone calls over the weekend
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/27/xinhua-china-insis...

Chinese state-run media Xinhua is also sticking to its tough stance on the trade war.

“China did not and will not surrender,” Xinhua said in a commentary on Tuesday. “Playing the old tricks of bullying and maximum pressure, the U.S. administration has escalated the trade tensions repeatedly and tried to coerce China into accepting its irrational demands.”

Forgive my ignorance, why did the Dems in the House pass it,and not not stop it like the GOP stop their stuff? Is it because the orange one will cause another shut down?

Not often politicians can out trump Trump, but Macron and Bolsonaro have managed to put him on the back burner

Bolsonaro seems to have been reading all of his tweets for the last few years to act a bit like a tosser and not be worried about this. It's the popular tide stopping your feet getting too wet by descenting voices by the old guard.

He is mini Trump. Deep state footage of them both practicing back in early 2016

https://youtu.be/vj8f5amIQwY?t=134

The slightly worrying thing is we have Argentina to the south, soon to be left wing, and Venezuala to the north, left wing, and right wing right in the middle.

The fires may soon be spreading.

PS Please note that I called El Presidente Maduro the other day a fat bd ex bus driver on twitter. If death squads take me out can someone from here alert the authorities?

cheers.

I stand to be corrected but I'm under the impression that the Dems are using this opportunity to spend as much as they can whilst being able to blame Trump for the deficit.

I don't think they can block it, it's getting passed in congress, which they control

It's as simple as that Donald signed off slightly more in social spending than defence spending, both both went up.

If you read Breibart news the hardliners on their were not happy with Donald capitulating once again to a massive deficit.

And they are right. The US tea party which was so strong a way back on spending has been blown away with Donald who says "this is the last time" then does it again.

For the hard core Tea party folk Donald is a RINO. But RINO is being swamped by Magma.

The battle of 4 letters, and MAGA is winning, because RINO depends on paying your way now and MAGA means someone in the future will pay for it whilst you get a good monthly wage.

Going back to the original question, Congress and the US president. You'd think that would be his downfall now they have control, but no. He gave them, the fiscal head and they said spend money. So he said fine smile

It just helps him

1. Not worry about any government shutdowns until 2020 elections.
2. Boast about military boost in the next 12 months forgetting social spending increase.

All Donald cares about is being voted in next year to prove he is a good President.

Forget anything else. Everything else between now and then is just chaff. The economy and Donald being re-elected.

He can't even shoot at Iran, his bogey man, due to that mantra .

I hate and respect him like the animals looking on at Manor Farm.

CNN never heard of Ronald Reagan?

The problem is that this is deficit in a boom time when interest rates on that debt are low.

George Bush was a great GOP President . He won a war when a war needed to be fought against Iraq in Kuwait, and when the fiscal times changed from not needing any more taxes, he sensibly brought them in and then got hammered for it by the electorate.

Clinton then benefited ... ironic.

Trump's duties on China cannot make up the reduction in taxes he has done to balance the budget. But hammering China and giving people more dollar in their pocket is far more of an influence than other things and he knows this.

It's interesting whether, if ever, the chickens will come home to roost with Donald and "his" GOP, or not.
