The st is hitting the fan big time for Trump: Ukraine and putting dirt on Biden, Syria and communication with Erdogan, Giulliani and his crony's concerning campaign financing, etc.

Schiff impeachment update letter: "It is worth taking stock of what we already know. We are already in possession of the call record which lays plain the President’s efforts to abuse his office for political gain."

Smells like a cooperation agreement to me.
Is that from Barr - Take Epsteins first deal or you get his second? biggrin

I've no doubt these people are used to a comfy lifestyle and will do anything to avoid as much as possible jail time. There's only Giuliani foolish enough to believe trump will pardon him. Look at Mannafort...

Pelosi said trump had a melt down during his Syria meeting, trump didn't like that so tried to claim pelosi did the same. As everything with trump it backfired.

President Trump wanted to shame House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when he tweeted out the photo of her from the meeting about Syria and Turkey today. Press secretary Stephanie Grisham ironically quoted senate minority leader Chuck Schumer saying, “The Speaker kept her cool” when she tweeted out the photo, as if the photo depicted Pelosi not keeping her cool in some way.

Unfortunately for the Trump administration, all they really did was make Pelosi look like the only woman at a table full of men, making sure her point was heard. And Pelosi evidently thought the photo made her look pretty cool too:

McKinley's opening statement has been published

"The timing of my resignation was the result of two overriding concerns: the failure, in my view, of the State Department to offer support to Foreign Service employees caught up in the Impeachment Inquiry on Ukraine; and, second, by what appears to be the utilization of our ambassadors overseas to advance domestic political objectives.

I was disturbed by the implication that foreign governments were being approached to procure negative information on political opponents. I was convinced that this would also have a serious impact on foreign service morale and the integrity of our work overseas.

Since I began my career in 1982, I have served my country and every President loyally. Under current circumstances, however, I could no longer look the other way as colleagues are denied the professional support and respect they deserve from us all."

Here's the denials starting:

Perry, Sondland, and Volker claiming that they never heard Biden's name from Trump, Giuliani, or Ukraine's govt.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/rick-perry-called-rud...

Yet look at the WH summary of the phone call, Trump pushed Biden's name to Zelensky 3 times in the same breath...

and Zelensky immediately makes the connection between the Bidens and "the company that you mentioned in this issue."

The madness is relentless now.
Intimating publically to a Turkish male that he’s a fool will usually end badly.
That letter is INCREDIBLE rofl

Thing is though, Erdogan does think he is a tough guy. This is two bullies strutting around the playground, two Mafia bosses attempting to establish themselves in their own minds as the capo di tuti cappi. Maybe this is the only sort of language Erdogan will understand. And Trump will not mind this letter being publicised as it will once again appeal to his core support.

He hasn't thought that far. All he thinks is it's a great letter and is a kneejerk reaction to all the flak he's been getting about his decision to pull out of Syria.

Rather like his kneejerk reaction to send Pence and Pompeo for talks. No wonder Erdogan didn't want to see them if he's had that letter

Swamp news - and big time this.

Bloomberg are reporting that trump, Barr and Mnuchin all tried to delay or halt the SDNY proceeedings into the turkish bank that was charged this week for money laundering, because Erdogan asked trump to do it.

In an April phone call, Trump told Erdogan that William Barr and Steven Mnuchin would handle the issue, the people said. In the months that followed, no action was taken against Halkbank for its alleged involvement in a massive scheme to evade sanctions on Iran. That changed when an undated indictment was unveiled Tuesday -- a day after Trump imposed sanctions over Turkey’s military operation in northern Syria.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-16...

Considering that the charges weren’t brought against the Turkish bank until now, it’s pretty clear that Barr and Mnuchin did make the criminal charges go away, at least for several months. This means that Trump, Barr, and Mnuchin entered into a criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice, so we can add that to the charges.

Several of team trump have/had connections to Turkey and Erdogan. This case involved a Rudy Giuliani client, and this along with trump’s sudden decision to do Turkey a huge favor by pulling out of northern Syria really does make it look like he's also compromised by Erdogan, doing foreign policy because he's indebted.

and speaking of Giuliani

CNN have reported that the FBI is also running a counterintelligence probe into his international actions.

For months, investigators looking into Rudy Giuliani's business dealings in Ukraine have dug into everything from possible financial entanglements with alleged corrupt Ukrainian figures to counterintelligence concerns raised by some of those business ties, according to people briefed on the matter.

The counterintelligence part of the investigation indicates that FBI and criminal prosecutors in Manhattan are looking at a broader set of issues related to Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, than has been previously reported.

This means the Feds aren’t just looking to nail Rudy for having committed financial crimes by taking payoffs from foreign governments and entities. They’re pursuing Rudy for the crimes he committed against the United States, on behalf of the nations that were paying him off. In addition to Giuliani’s confession this week that he took half a million dollars from a company run by his recently arrested Ukrainian associate, it’s also been fairly clear for some time that Rudy has been on Turkey’s payroll.

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/16/politics/giulia...

So leaks are coming out about this - is this sanctioned, lets Giuliani know how screwed he is and try for a plea deal?
Wrong person to try that with, he consistently lies, twists facts and probably believes trump will pardon him

WTF!

trump really hasn't got a clue. It's a long standign thing that you never discuss where Nukes are positioned. It makes them a target, reveals strategic information etc.

A reporter asked him: “One of the things that has been exposed by this Turkey situation is that as many as 50 nuclear weapons are at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. How confident are you of those weapons’ safety?” the reporter asked, according to a transcript of the exchange provided by the White House.

“We’re confident, and we have a great air base there, a very powerful air base,” Trump said in response. “That air base alone can take any place. It’s a large, powerful air base.”

Trump went on to reiterate that Turkey is a member of NATO.

Sonderland's been lying and caught out with it...

Sondland directly contradicted Bolton by telling the Ukrainians that in fact, Trump was committed to meeting with Zelenskiy on the condition he open a corruption investigation, two people told about the matter tell NBC News.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-impeachment...

Then you know how it was suggested trump manipulates the stock market...

In the last 10 mins of trading on 8/23 as mkts were roiling in the face of more bad trade news, someone bought 386,000 Sep e-minis. 3days later,Trump lied about getting a call from China to restart the trade talks-S&P shot up nearly 80 points. The potential profit +1.5bn

@tedlieu

There are two possibilities based on the reporting by @WilliamCohan in @VanityFair:

1. Many large trades near in time to statements and actions by @realDonaldTrump that resulted in massive gains were all just coincidences.

OR

2. There was insider trading.
