Trumps doesn't know Stone. Never met him. Might have had a picture taken with him, but he has pictures taken with lots of people. More pictures than anyone else on earth ever, many people say...

Ahem
Stone is the sixth Trump aide or adviser convicted in a criminal case resulting from Mr Mueller's since-concluded investigation.

GOP are behaving terrible against Yovanovitch

Republican Rep. Mike Turner tried to stop her answering demanding: "Not on my time, you're done. Right?"

Schiff had to step in to let Yovanovitch get her answer out.

Swamp news - Giuliani is in real trouble, no wonder he was angling for a pardon yesterday as it's announced tha Federal prosecutors in New York are investigating whether Rudy Giuliani stood to personally profit from a Ukrainian natural-gas business pushed by Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.

Are they going to go after Rick Perry as well; he seems to have been grifting his way around Ukraine even more than Rudi?

Probably.

After all a court just found that Stone lied to Congress because the truth was "terrible" for Trump, they proved that trump didn't tell the truth in written answers to special counsel Robert Mueller,

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-departmen...

Just lie with Cohen, but effectively trump was again an unindicted co-conspirator in a trial

Nothing to hide of course, yet Stone, Gates, Flynn, Manafort, Cohen, and Papadopoulos have all been convicted of lying to federal authorities.

In fact quite the WSJ front page

trump mouthpiece Stephanie Grisham The tweet was not witness intimidation, it was simply the President’s opinion, which he is entitled to."

It's all made up according to trump

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

So they now convict Roger Stone of lying and want to jail him for many years to come. Well, what about Crooked Hillary, Comey, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Shifty Schiff, Ohr & Nellie, Steele & all of the others, including even Mueller himself? Didn’t they lie?....

9:13 AM - 15 Nov 2019

Wjy no donald - you're the one that lies, over 14000 times so far

Now the question needs to be asked - why did Barr rapidly shut down Mueller, lie about the outcomes, produce a fake summary and still block anyone seeing an unredacted Mueller report

Of course the irony here is that Giuliani is now being investigated for doing and profiteering from exactly what he tried claiming Hunter Biden was doing... biggrin
Mind you he's learnt from his boss...

Even Fox news just said trump could be impeached for witness intimidation today

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/11/it-is-a-crime-fox...

It's embaressing now for the GOP

Several Republicans on the Intelligence Committee dodged the topic entirely. Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) refused to answer questions about the tweets as he ducked on to the House floor, while Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) quickly whipped out his cell phone and began talking into it, even though his home screen was visible and there was no call in progress.

Cannot express how happy I am about the 7 counts against Roger Stone.
I may actually cry genuine tears of frustration if / when he is pardonned.

fk me that guy deserves to serve some serious VBRJ time.

Pardoning for Trump is a risky business, he's not showing being keen on.

How can all these Trump inner circle lying crooks get convicted yet the man himself carry on regardless?

I can only hope that once he's out of office he'll be pursued with zeal.

It's because they're doing it properly.

They are going after Trump like the DOJ goes after organised criminals. Destroy the organisations leadership from the base up. First you go after the Lieutenants, then the Capos, finally you've got the Don isolated and alone, then you nail them because they've got nowhere and no one to run to.

Besides, he keeps incriminating himself, best not to interrupt an enemy when they keep making mistakes.

Also they need the case against Trump to be water tight. We cant let Trump get off on a technicality.

It's not an exaggeration to say that I want him to die in prison.

America needs to make an example of him (and amend presidential powers) if it's to regain any global respect whatsoever.

There are some interesting observations to be made with all of this. Firstly, the Dems can't hide their partisan nature in everything, even Schiff can't. I do sometimes think they are not doing themselves any favours in lowering themselves to the level of the Reps. Schiff didn't need to mention Trump's critical tweet today, it was just theatre which served no legal purpose in the proceedings. He just couldn't help himself, but could have ended up looking petty and being theatrical and that undermines the gravity of the situation and gives the Reps something to criticise Schiff for and point to the witch hunt, distract from the purpose. It is the latest of many snipes which add nothing the the legal proceedings. To have credibility, you need to be above this.

Secondly, I can't help but think Trump has set the standards for the US political system for the years to come if not for ever. His conduct has highlighted what a President can do. He may not get away will all of it, but he has exposed the loopholes in the system. If a Dem becomes the next president, will the first executive order be to close down the opportunities to do similar? I'm not so sure. It is all about power and the lot of them crave it, and when they have it, the don't want to let go. It is interesting when in times of election, politicians always say "when we/I am in power we will...". Poor choice of words which belies their hunger for power, not their desire to take responsibility and be accountable for that.
