45th President of the United States, Donald Trump (Vol. 7)
Discussion
CNN read on air two devastating details from Holmes’s testimony yesterday.
He testified he personally heard trump demand investigation of Biden. trump was so loud on the phone, Sondland had to hold the phone away from his ear.
Sondland said Trump didn’t care about the war with Russia because he only cared about things that benefited him, like the Biden investigation.
The whole document is here: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6550845-21...
So trump lied, Sondland lied to protect trump. There's a pattern here

Barr have a speech to the Federalist Society, where he argued the President should have unlimited power
" If Congress attempts to vest the power to execute the law in someone beyond the control of the President, it contravenes the Framers’ clear intent to vest that power in a single person, the President. So much for this supposedly nefarious theory of the unitary executive."
Also strange claims about 'the resistance' , making out that trump is treated poorly
"Immediately after President Trump won election, opponents inaugurated what they called “The Resistance,” and they rallied around an explicit strategy of using every tool and maneuver available to sabotage the functioning of his Administration. Now, “resistance” is the language used to describe insurgency against rule imposed by an occupying military power. It obviously connotes that the government is not legitimate. This is a very dangerous – indeed incendiary – notion to import into the politics of a democratic republic. What it means is that, instead of viewing themselves as the “loyal opposition,” as opposing parties have done in the past, they essentially see themselves as engaged in a war to cripple, by any means necessary, a duly elected government. "
He continues with:
"A prime example of this is the Senate’s unprecedented abuse of the advice-and-consent process. The Senate is free to exercise that power to reject unqualified nominees, but that power was never intended to allow the Senate to systematically oppose and draw out the approval process for every appointee so as to prevent the President from building a functional government.
Yet that is precisely what the Senate minority has done from his very first days in office."
fk ME! did he not see what Moscow Mitch and the GOP did to Obama for years?

trump doesn't like strong women. I think Pelosi is trying to get into his head, is this to deliberately distract him from other attacks?
Pelosi: "He should not frivolously throw out insults, but that's what he does. I think part of it is his own insecurity as an imposter. I think he knows full well that he's in that office way over his head. And so he has to diminish everyone else."

Can imagine his reaction when he read that...

Not sure anyone actually said that. It's been a source of amazement, and sinking disappointment, frankly, that somehow this clusterfk has got as far as this.

If you dial back the Putin angle a bit, you can see Trump went for Ukraine as they were in an extremely vulnerable position. They needed support from usa re: protection from Russia. Trump needed to smear Biden.
We are currently in a pickle, with a populist leader, who could really do with some help from the USA.
Anyone asked bj directly if any favours were mentioned during recent trade deal discussions?

Stefanik has “gone the full MAGA,” as she again tried to disrupt proceedings..

Transcripts released from previous depositions show Stefanik was absent from several of these important hearings. Yet, today, when the television cameras were on, Stefanik attempted to turn these hearings into a partisan circus.

A lil insight to Trumper from someone who had dealings with him prior to his ascendancy.

Louisiana's John Bel Edwards stuns GOP, wins reelection to a second term as the Deep South’s only Democratic governor.
This is a state that trump Trump had visited three times in five weeks to support Republican challenger Eddie Rispone in the runoff and still, Democrat John Bel Edwards won in a state that Trump carried in 2016 by nearly 20 percentage points and again in his rally this week told the audience, "You've got to give me a big win, O.K.?"

Unannounced early medical going on now.
Way out being prepared or just more diversion?
From Stephanie Grisham: “Anticipating a very busy 2020, the President is taking advntage of a free weekend here in Washington DC to begin potions of his routing physical exam at Walter Reed. Way out being prepared or just more diversion?
After a quick exam and labs, the President is headed back downtown.
The President remains healthy and energetic without complaints, as demonstrated by his repeated vigorous rally performances in front of thousands of Americans several times a week.”
The trouble with this is she has zero credibility so that makes it hard to discount this as something serious - why a hospital, if he was unwell a doctor would go to him. Also trump plays golf every weekend.
Just a spur of the moment decision to go to the hospital for tests on a Saturday while perfectly healthy with nothing bothering him?
Remember trump tried to crucify Hillary when she had pneumonia, saying she wasn't fit

Of course what doesn't help Grisham being found out for lying is when trump tweets something completely different.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Visited a great family of a young man under major surgery at the amazing Walter Reed Medical Center. Those are truly some of the best doctors anywhere in the world. Also began phase one of my yearly physical. Everything very good (great!). Will complete next year.
9:09 PM - 16 Nov 2019
Are we supposed to believe that Trump went to a military hospital to visit with a military family, and just decided to get part of his annual physical done three month early while he was there?
The Hill opinion writer Andrew Vernon tweeted that “Sources tell me from Walter Reed the President was being checked out for chest discomfort.”

Photos show trump leaving the white house with his shirt open and something on his arm.

Tim Morrison: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/morri...
Jennifer Williams: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/willi...
So - Jennifer Williams testimony, she listened in on the call and made notes. She is A Mike Pence aide.Tim Morrison: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/morri...
Jennifer Williams: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/willi...
She said she felt trumps call to Zelensky was “inappropriate”, “shed some light on possible other motivations” for freezing military aid and “I found the specific references to be—to be more specific to the president in nature, to his personal political agenda, as opposed to a broader … foreign policy objective of the United States.”
https://www.politico.com/news/2019/11/16/pence-aid...
She also said her handwritten notes reflect that Zelensky mentioned 'Burisma' on the July 25 call, and she doesn't know why it's not in the White House summary.
Q: So you wouldn’t have written that down if it hadn't come up during the call. Is that right?
WILLIAMS: Correct.
Tim Morrison testified that: "[Sondland] told me that in his—that what he communicated was that he believed the—what could help them move the aid was if the prosecutor general would to go the mike and announce that he was opening the Burisma investigation."
that trump was actively involved
MORRISON: [Sondland] related to me he was acting—he was discussing these [Ukraine] matters with the President.
Q: And, in fact, every time you went to check to see whether he had, in fact, talked to the President you found that he had talked to the President?
MORRISON: Yes.
Before Trump's call with Zelensky, Sondland emailed Tim Morrison "and several other White House staff to inform us that he had spoken to the President that morning to brief him on the call."
Morrison also testified that trump told Sondland that "President Zelensky must announce the opening of the investigations." Later, Morrison added: "There was no quid pro quo, but President Zelensky had to do it and he should want to do it."
Pretty damming evidence
Edit: Oh and of course this puts Sondland in even more trouble as he again lied in his revised testimony
Morrison: “Sondland believed and at least related to me that the President was giving him instruction”
but Sondland denied knowing where plans came from, suggesting it was Giuliani/Volker
