Sorry I disagree. Witness intimidation, which it was, is an impeachable offence. Schiff was right to call it out, as it happened, during a hearing about trumps impeachment.
He is being impeached for using US influence to bribe another nation for personal political gain. Witness intimidation s another impeachable act to start fresh proceedings on. The Dems will be banging on about this for days. It's a distraction.
Having looked into this - I wanted to address this. This is wrong. The current investigation being held publicly is to decide if trump has charges to answer, this is not yet the formal impeachment by the house. They can bring in other charges to the impeachment charges such as witness intimidation. It's why so many GOP members and team trump aides have privately said trump was wrong to send that tweet.

OK, so it is a public investigation to determine whether impeachment proceedings should be brought in the case of bribery. Yes, they can bring other impeachable charges (intimidation for example), but surely this would be best done under a separate investigation, or have the alleged (I say alleged as it is not yet proven in court as obvious as it might seem) intimidation charges
formally added to this public investigation. Bringing it up during a witness testimony unrelated to the bribery investigation was opportunist theatre is Schiff's part.

IMO, he would have been better letting it pass, and announced on Monday morning that Trump's alleged intimidation was being added to the public investigation.

Of course the more that is added to the investigation, the longer it takes and the more opportunity the Reps have of muddying the waters.

If the Dems want rid of him, they need to focus on the best reason for impeachment and that is probably the use of US state means to bribe a foreign nation to interfere with US democratic process.

Oooh, those are nasty! You can get a treatment to remove them, but it's bloody expensive and publicly painful. Best just to cover it up as much as possible to prevent embarrassment.

Semantics perhaps (but this is PH) but it's public testimony into impeachment hearings to decide on charges to bring, it's not bribery only although they are concentrating on that as the private testimonys have proven they have a case.

trump of course has a history of this, he did this with Cohen, tweeted threatening comments suggesting that Cohen’s father-in-law should be investigated

when he was about to testify to Congress tweeting that Cohen “was just disbarred by the State Supreme Court for lying & fraud. He did bad things unrelated to Trump. He is lying in order to reduce his prison time.”

then those tweets about former White House Counsel Don McGahn just when congressional Democrats were actively seeking McGahn’s testimony about Mueller's report

He did the same in Stones trial and Manaforts attacking those testifying againg his team members.

He praises those who stand and protect him, targets attacks on witnesses who may provide damaging testimony against him trying to discredit their testimony, to deter them from cooperating, and to cause other witnesses to think twice before coming forward

It's nowhere near as obvious as trump guilt on Ukraine, but needs to be discouraged further.

Stefanik has “gone the full MAGA,” as she again tried to disrupt proceedings..
https://news.yahoo.com/stefanik-embraces-spotlight...

Transcripts released from previous depositions show Stefanik was absent from several of these important hearings. Yet, today, when the television cameras were on, Stefanik attempted to turn these hearings into a partisan circus.
Her Democrat opponent has gone from 6k to 200k followers on Twitter and seen a massive surge in donations since Stefanik's performance! About $650k so far and likely to hit $1m by the end of the weekend.

My prediction.

If Trump is facing being found guilty he will be diagnosed with dementia. He will never be held to account.
His cowardice is the only thing that will trump his arrogance.

I just wish some here would get a check on reality. Trump isnt going anywhere, not now, not next week, not next month. If you think he is, your delusional.

That may well be true, and it has got me thinking lately about the impeachment process itself. Basically, the likelihood is that eventually, trump will have his fate decided by a bunch of his mates in the senate. It seems an amazingly poor system if it is meant to deliver 'justice'.

I do think once the worthless sociopath is gone, whenever that is, they need to have a really good look at the constitution there.

Or faking an illness to enable the VP to succeed? I've mentioned Wag the Dog before in this thread, it's possible.

Or will he be only the second person (after Ernest Saunders) to fully recover from advanced dementia?

Let's look at the obvious
Trumps ego won't let him resign
The GOP still hold the senate and are still behind trump.
Barr running the DOJ is also covering his arse and covering up many other crimes he's committed.
Even if the house vote to put forward impeachment, the senate under the GOP will not vote trump out currently.

Which is why everything is now in public, setting trumps guilt out completely in public, so that the voters understand it.
This isn't about impeaching trump, it's about damaging him so much the GOP drop him as candidate, or more likely, he loses credibility to the voters and loses in 2020.
I think this is all about the end play to get the senate back.

In my great and unmatched opinion... biggrin
