trumps lost in court trying to delay the Summer Zervos case.

The New York Supreme Court has denied a motion to delay the case of Summer Zervos v. Donald Trump, the defamation suit filed against the president of the United States by a former contestant on The Apprentice, the NBC reality show POTUS once fronted. Trump’s attorneys had argued that “a stay is necessary given the novel and important Constitutional issues involved, the special considerations due to the President’s requests for interlocutory appeals and to prevent irreparable harm.” Justice Jennifer Schetcer disagreed.

A reminder the third public impeachment hearing is today

At 9am ET. Jennifer Williams, an aide to Pence, and Lt. Col. Alex Vindman will appear before the House Intel Committee.
Amb. Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison, a W.H. aide with the NSC, will appear at 2:30pm.

The U.S. Army is monitoring Vindman’s security and is prepared to move him and his family to a local military base if necessary following his impeachment testimony.

In the case of sudden death from a heart attack it would be blamed on him being a fat bd who doesn't exercise and eats 'hamberders' too often.

It's also hard to see how it would 'solve his problems'. He is in a spot of bother, to put it mildly, but I am not certain death would be his preferred option rather than his current routine of acting like a tt and tweeting like an upset child.

GOP have turned up with visual aids (for trump?)

Day 3 GOP graphics include a blow-up quote from @CongressmanJVD, a NJ Democrat who’s already been retweeted by Trump for his Fox News commentary undermining the Dem message on impeachment.

Ordinarily Lt Col Vindman’s testimony would be explosive. Let’s see how the hearing continues.

well, SCHIFF begins by getting Williams to acknowledge that she's been blocked from discussing a Sept. 18 call that may be relevant because it's been deemed "classified" by the vice president's office.

She said she'd be "happy to" submit a classified statement to lawmakers.

Nunes has made an opening statement (for the defence) focussing almost entirely on the media, recited a series of headlines re: Russia investigation that he says turned out to be false.
Those were definately decidedly not false

Vindman's opening statement finishes with:
I ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT MY SIMPLE ACT OF APPEARING HERE TODAY JUST LIKE THE COURAGE OF MY COLLEAGUES WHO HAVE ALSO TRUTHFULLY TESTIFIED BEFORE THIS COMMITTEE WOULD NOT BE TOLERATED IN MANY PLACES AROUND THE WORLD.
IN RUSSIA, MY ACT OF EXPRESSING CONCERN TO THE CHAIN OF COMMAND WOULD HAVE SEVERE PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REPERCUSSIONS AND OFFERING THE TESTIMONY WOULD SURELY COST ME THE LIFE.

I'M GRATEFUL FOR MY FATHER'S BRAVE ACT OF HOIP AND FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF BEEN BEING AN AMERICAN CITIZEN. WHERE I CAN LEAVE FREE OF FEAR FOR MINE AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY.

DAD, I'M SITTING HERE TODAY IN THE U.S. CAPITOL TALKING TO OUR ELECTED PROFESSIONALS, TALKING TO OUR ELECTED PROFESSIONALS IS PROOF THAT YOU MADE THE RIGHT DECISION 40 YEARS AGO TO LEAVE THE SOVIET UNION AND SOME HERE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN SEARCH OF A BETTER LIFE FOR OUR FAMILY. DO NOT WORRY. I WILL BE FINE FOR TELLING THE TRUTH.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS.

A moving end to his statement. Interesting to see how the Republicans play this. He is a man in uniform, who was on the call and heard exactly what was said, and raised his concerns to the appropriate team as per the process.

Which, other than the uniform, is exactly true of the whistleblower.
GOP don't give a st about "the process".

When Vindman was testifying about the offer he was made to become Ukraine Defence Minister it was interesting that he looked to his counsel before revealing the name of one of the two US State employees who were there at that meeting, a Mr Bean laugh Made me wonder if that might be the whistleblower whose identity they are trying to preserve.

Was the whistle blower in any of the meetings, or just not on the call?

Ratcliffe using the old Trump trick of piling heaps of paper in front of the camera, apparently basing his entire argument on the specious 'fact' that nobody has ever used the words 'bribe' or 'bribery' in their testimony. rolleyes

Never once did he question the testimony, just went on a rant about the process and how its all a shame.

It really is quite pathetic that these presumably educated and richly rewarded people have allowed themselves to stoop to these Trumpian levels of redtop rantery.
