Its distracting from Trump throwing his second personal lawyer under the big heavy bus..
Precisely. A move he has repeated throughout his time in office. A master of distraction he is not, it’s obvious what is going on. It’s just virtually impossible for the media to ignore a head of state behaving in a such a bizarre manner.
Well Giuliani is under pressure - now admitting he had Rudy Giuliani that meeting with a lawyer for a Ukrainian oligarch who he had previously said he had "nothing to do with., it was all media lies.

Then the White house have thrown Sondland under the bus, when they've said they have no record of the call he said he had with trump when trump said he wanted no quid pro quo, it looks like Sondland lied again to protect trump and himself.

President Trump was cranky when they spoke on the phone in September, Ambassador Gordon Sondland told members of Congress, but his words were clear: Trump wanted no quid pro quo with Ukraine.

“This is Ambassador Sondland speaking to me,” Trump said outside the White House last week, looking down to read notes he’d taken of Sondland’s testimony. “Here’s my response that he just gave: ‘I want nothing. . . . I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo.’ ”

Sondland’s recollection of a phone conversation that he said took place on Sept. 9 has emerged as a centerpiece of Trump’s defense as House Democrats argue in an impeachment inquiry that he abused his office to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democrats.

However, no other witness testimony or documents have emerged that corroborate Sondland’s description of a call that day.

It also helps to distract from the report yesterday about his policy of separating children from their parents as a policy of dissuasion

The internal DHS watchdog found that the Trump admin anticipated it would separate 26,000 children if the "zero tolerance" policy had been allowed to continue, and that the agency knew it lacked the technology to track and reunite kids with their parents.

Mind you ICE are out of control.
ICE created a fake university, built out a website saying it was authentic, and recruited an accreditation organization to vouch for it. Foreign students signed up, came here, and were arrested by ICE for ... attending a fake university.

NYT are reporting that The Justice Department's inspector general found no evidence that the FBI attempted to place undercover agents or informants inside Trump's campaign in 2016, undermining a key claim, especially by Papadopoulos that Joseph Mifsud, was an F.B.I. informant, rather than a russian operative.

It also blows awat trumps claim that Obama wiretapped his phones, another lie which he's never proved.

trump fraud news.

r
Remember how Michael Cohen testified it was a standard Trump Org practice to report higher numbers to obtain loans, but significantly reduced numbers to the tax man so both bank and tax fraud by trump...

Documents show the president’s company reported different numbers — higher ones to lenders, lower ones to tax officials — for Trump’s signature building. Last month, ProPublica revealed a similar pattern in two other Trump buildings.

Just at a time that trump org is being heavily investigated, when CFO is being interviewed...

Apropos of nothing, here's an interesting quote from the now-late Clive James:

"The sure sign of a weak man who ascends to glory is that he can't tolerate having strong men around him."

trumps got his way with the threeSeals he wants to put on his campaign platform

Trident Review Board called off for 3 SEALs in Gallagher case: "As Acting Secretary of the Navy I have directed the Chief of Naval Operations to terminate the Trident Reviews for three Naval Special Warfare officers. Given the unique circumstances of these three remaining cases, I have determined that any failures in conduct, performance, judgment, or professionalism exhibited by these officers be addressed through other admin measures..., such as letters of instruction or performance observations on their officer fitness reports."

Those “Unique circumstances” being that trump intervened where he shouldn’t have.

'many people'
have pointed out that trump has manyactors at his rally that are always placed to stand behind him

Not that we sould be surprised that the guy that paid actors to clap for him when he announced he was running for president at the bottom of an escalator is still hiring actors to clap for him, who took his own staff to the CIA HQ so they could clap for him,

'many people' have also pointed out "they also hire off Craig's list. Pay 15.00 hr. 3 hr. minimum. They provide hats & signs. "

Can't stay in a trump hotel, maybe you could buy his sons book?

At least nine Republican organizations, GOP candidates or advocacy groups are selling 'Triggered' or promoting the book tour,

Turning Point is not the only conservative group making bulk purchases to aid Mr. Trump’s new career as an author. At least nine Republican organizations, G.O.P. candidates or advocacy groups are selling “Triggered” or promoting Mr. Trump’s book tour, according to emails obtained by The New York Times, interviews and disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Some sorry 'many people' in China wants trump to be reelected...

Chinese officials are betting that Trump’s transactional approach to politics might be preferable to a more principle-driven president, whether Democrat or Republican.

“Trump is a businessman. We can just pay him money and the problems will be solved,” said a politically connected person in Beijing, speaking on the condition of anonymity to talk frankly about sensitive international issues. “As long as we have money, we can buy him. That’s the reason why we prefer him to Democrats.”

The one good thing about Trump's presidency, if you're a candidate for the next one at any rate, is that whoever that next one turns out to be (assuming it isn't him) will have a very easy ride. As long as they stop short of juvenile homicide they'll be perceived as paragons of virtue.

The flipside is they could potentially hold and act on any number of deeply unpleasant views, but as long as they had a veneer of competence about them, they may well get an easier ride simply because "not Trump". I'm not sure quite how the Overton Window gets shifted back to a more sensible place without elements of his base resisting, now they have a foothold.

Outside of the states with egregious jerrymandering and disenfranchisement that ship appears to have sailed, the mid-term elections indicate a distinct move to the centre if not the actual left. The recent gubernatorial elections show a similar trend..

Trump made a surprise trip to visit American troops in Afghanistan. He served turkey, took selfies, and announced peace talks with the Taliban are back on after saying in September they were “dead”.

President Donald Trump paid a surprise Thanksgiving visit to Afghanistan, where he announced the U.S. and Taliban have been engaged in ongoing peace talks and said he believes the Taliban want a cease-fire.

Trump arrived at Bagram Air Field shortly after 8:30 p.m. local time Thursday and spent 3½ hours on the ground during his first trip to the site of America’s longest war. He served turkey and thanked the troops, delivered a speech and sat down with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani before leaving just after midnight.

As per tradition, reporters were under strict instructions to keep the trip a secret to ensure the president’s safety in the country. About 12,000 U.S. forces remain in Afghanistan.

“We’re meeting with them,” he said. “And we’re saying it has to be a cease-fire. And they don’t want to do a cease-fire, but now they do want to do a cease-fire, I believe ... and we’ll see what happens.”

Thats pretty clear then...

President Ghani's wasn't told in advance trump was coming and was only informed when he landed.

'many people' are saying he was given a prepared speech to read as it includes phrases from trumps rally's such as the killing of Al-Baghdadi was a “much bigger accomplishment” than getting Bin Laden, how trump is better than Obama...
