More people have voted for this prime minister than any other in the 47 years I have been on the planet
And this undemocratic Prime Minister has clearly expressed his views with great clarity when it comes to British PM's seizing power without facing a General Election.Vaud said:

It's politics. But now his populist claptrap is coming back to haunt him. As seen with his recent rebuttal by Macron.

No it is not, it what our undemocratic leader clearly said.

Rank hypocrisy in tweets and other statements is seen across the leaders. Regardless of party, I don't like it - but I'm a pragmatist and try to separate the soundbite from the actual leadership intension. But now his populist claptrap is coming back to haunt him. OK, let's play a little game, let's call it the de Pfeffel plays......"Rank hypocrisy" or "actual leadership intension"

And that, folks, is how the "ends justifies the means" crowd does it, and why we have the scummy politicians that we do.Piha said:

Well to be fair it doesn't say "general election" it says "election" and he was elected just not by the entire electorate. Anyway, it is a nonsense. The British PM is quite often chosen without an election including, off the top of my head, Churchill, Macmillan, Home, Major, Callaghan, Brown and never directly voted for the rest of time either.jtremlettW said:

In the last 100 years, around a half of all PMs have assumed the role at times other than at a GE. It's a feature of our *ahem* democratic system, not a bug.Escapegoat said:

Do most politicians pander to the media? I've yet to find one that doesn't.
Are tweets, or even manifestos delivered on oath? Nope. Hence I'm pragmatic regardless of where I place my cross.

where you get undemocratic from God only knows
Er... Boris' own words?"It’s the arrogance. It’s the contempt. That’s what gets me. It’s Gordon Brown’s apparent belief that he can just trample on the democratic will of the British people. ... gigantic fraud."
"The extraordinary thing is that it looks as though he will now be in 10 Downing Street for three years, and without a mandate from the British people. No one elected Gordon Brown as Prime Minister"
Now, you need to get into Vaud's mindset, so that you can put these apparently-principled claims into the "well, all politicians say that" box.
