They’ve lost their titles and repaying for Frogmore.
But retain duke & duchess, just not HRH prefix.

Bye bye!

NB: If they have any brains they will drop that legal case. Hope they don't though as it has much comic potential.

So the "transition" is really rather rapid.

Those claiming they had the Queen over a barrel have just found quite how much that wasn't the case.

I really, really hope Harry doesn't live to regret this.

I see some of the frothers haven’t read the statement. If they had, then they’d see that, actually, this is something that has been in the pipeline for months and the queen knew. The only surprise, it seems, is H & M made a public announcement before it was formally concluded.

If it all goes pear shaped for him he’ll be welcomed back. It’s not like he’s ever going to end up homeless.

Well that's a fair outcome, they can now go off and do what they want.

I'm not sure he would...

Has there ever been anyone who's lost "HRH" then regained it?

No, he won't end up homeless - but he's just dumped a huge workload on dad and bro. Caused stress and grief for 93 year old gran. Tried to have it all, claimed a tonne via the website - and then been slapped down.

There's something on that in the DT's coverage: "Buckingham Palace does not comment on the details of security arrangements. There are well established independent processes to determine the need for publicly-funded security. This new model will take effect in the Spring of 2020."

I suspect there will be some pretty clearly defined ground rules actually.......which may or may not align with H & M's expectations previously

She has tremendous form for this.
What's not clear is who she can move on to after a prince. Some russian oligarch or greek shipping billionaire probably.

Hmm neatly dodging any funds that they might receive from the Duchy of Cornwall; aka 90% of their funding.

Of course when Charles becomes king Harry won’t get anymore from the duchy. It will all go to William from then on.

Maybe it will Queenies ultimate revenge to abdicate.

That's Charles's money to do with as he wishes, don't see the issue. If he wants to give his son £5m a year he can. Either way we don't see that money.

That Charles has that estate is a problem in itself but it's not related to this.

Agreed, and it will be strictly controlled what he spends it on, no doubt. The Firm will not want this mess to drag on and the arrangement announced today appears to be quite a fair solution that will have come with certain 'conditions', I have no doubt.

Let the dust settle and see where H&M go with this arrangement.
