Do you really think so?

I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
You think he's had a "happy" life until now?
Those who lived and served closely with him during his time in the Army said that he always hated his life.

Hated the fact he had to be ‘Royal’, hated the press, hated what had happened to his mother, hated royal protocol.

He thoroughly enjoyed being in the army as it was like living and working with normal people.

He was extremely upset at having to leave the army.

Harry has clearly always been dissatisfied with life as a royal, and has been looking for a way out.

I think that once married, he saw Meghan as a way out, and someone he could enjoy life with away from the royal family.

Far from her doing anything to ruin his life, I think he’s used her as a way to leave the UK and the Royal family behind him.

I assume you know people who served with him.

But not the titles, or the privilege, or the celebrity status, or the money, etc, etc...........

They've given up their titles and state funding, and repaid money to the tax payer.

They don't control whether they have privilege or celebrity although I am sure there is much they could do to decrease both.

I'd love to know what people want them to do.

As in at what point is it "enough".

I suspect whatever they do they'll fall short.

To be fair, even if he genuinely wanted to he couldn't ever live a "normal" life.

He could renounce everything, titles, inheritances, the whole shebang but the media would still hound him for the rest of his life.

As per their original announcement via their website - they weren't planning on doing any of that, except for "working towards" financial independence (whilst still getting dosh from Dad).

You assume wrongly.

I listened to an interview on the radio with a guy who served with him, and that's what he was saying Harry often talked about.

If you do a bit of googling you will find numerous former Army colleagues coming out in support of his decision to leave the Royal family.

Very easy to say you hate the life when the money is already safe in the bank.

There seems to be a lot of people on here who would still be baying for blood even if the pair of them ended up living in a 3 bed semi in Hull.

Quite.

People seem to make it remarkably personal.

It's odd.

I worked with someone who served with him, that wasn’t his view.

I have just messaged him, he doesn’t support the view you claim to be prevalent on google, nor do the people he is still in contact with.

There is probably no point in telling you this as you will likely just rubbish it without due consideration, but wealthy and powerful families exert absolutely massive pressure on their own children to toe the line, and to follow the rules of the family. Do as you are told, do what is expected of you and don't answer back.

Even if you come from an totally unknown family that has millions in the bank, it is practically like the days of arranged marriages, your parents will try to tell you what girlfriends are suitable or unsuitable, and have a steer on what sort of wedding you will have.

My guess is, and I could be wrong, that Harry managed to convince or argue his family round to the fact that he was marrying Meghan come hell or high water, but there is no doubt he will have been railroaded into having the wedding that would be expected of a Royal family member of his level.

Only once he was married and formally had someone he loved and trusted in life to share his issues with, that he decided he could finally leave 'The Firm'.

Speculation on my part of course, but it all seems entirely plausible to me.

I really don't think that's true.

If he did all that, then the courts would I think defend his right to privacy to the utter hilt.

My understanding is that they haven't given up their titles, they've just agreed not to use them - for now at least. They still have their privilege, and they look like they intend to capitalise on their celebrity status. I understand that Charles still funds Harry to the tune of £2.5 million per year, their security is likely to to paid for by the taxpayer, and they will still live in Frogmore Cottage when in the UK.

This appears to be their future https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10955464/prince-harr... Nice work if you can get it, and happen to be a Royal, of course.

What would you like them to do? What would satisfy you?

Which is fine, but what would that look like?

What would you like them to have or not have? Do and not do?

I would like him to secure a position in the TV show NCIS. Acting as a sort of British liaison officer.
This would mean that more episodes could have a London feel complete with red post boxes and phone boxes and black cabs.
If Meghan could appear as an American love interest for Leon Vance even better
