Ouch - rarely can there have been a better case for upgrading to Premium.
This had completely passed my by, until someone out of the blue volunteered the following this morning. "Harry and Markle have signed a deal with Spotify. Have just unsubscribed from Spotify, what streaming service do you use?"

No idea why particularly they were asking me, but it does seem that for some people this pair is absolute poison to any associated product.

I think it's great that they're getting all these deals. In a free market economy they'll get what these media companies think they are worth and seems like its enough for them to go off and live their lives without depending on the tax payer.

On the contrary the media companies will want a return on their investment by making sure H&M are never out of the public eye, so they will continually pop up spouting guff. They are not as annoying as Covid but nevertheless are irritating, and unlikely to go away.

I had the same today. I have premium so it was suggesting it to me rather than advertising it though. Once more I’ll cancel my subscription.

biggrin Some people are going to be so disappointed with their success. An ex-royal and good looking actress, why wouldn't they be?

They'll do fine. But since they don't have anything actually insightful to say, they're going to have to become the semi-posh alternative to the Kardashians. Which is going to be fun to watch.

It'll be a lucrative niche, I'm sure. But they'll have to abandon the precious (invented?) quest for privacy.

10 years from now, if it's still going, this could be an absolutely hilarious embarrassment to William's monarchy. Like a Will Ferrell film or something.

The Royal family have been there before with Sarah Ferguson, though that was when these things could be kept more separate by country.

Fergie, (and hilarious nutter Margaret) predate the iPhone, Facebook, Twitter and all the rest.

For H&M to generate the Benjamins they're going to have to be everywhere, all the time, talking real, solid gold, bks. So if it lasts it's going to make for some proper comedy, IMO.

Speaking as a fellow gentle, boring, divvy, I rather like William.

I'm not a shareholder in Spotify or anything, just a customer. But I'd rather they spent a bit more of my money on paying artists a decent whack than spaffing a fortune on these two chancers. I'm not sure I'm really all that interested in Spotify as a platform for podcasts, there's already a wealth of free content out there and I don't see the need for 'premium' content that I'll be paying for whether I listen or not. Stick to the music please and maybe spend some of the money on streaming at a higher quality.

Tempted to give one of the other streaming services a try. Unfortunately I'm on a family plan and it will mean explaining my actions to my wife and daughter and I expect they'll see it as a bit of a flounce on my part.

Would either of them want to listen to H&Ms podcast?

They could of course apply themselves to doing something more useful/productive than being media personalities and subsequently boring the tits off everyone else. But they don't know any better. I almost feel sorry for them...OK, that moment just passed.

Somehow I doubt many of us here are the target market for anything that will be produced. Those that are will lap it up like anything else to do with the royal family.

Maybe people will get bored like they do with other personalities and after making they'll make loads of cash they'll fade into obscurity?

I just wanted to pop and say how utterly marvellous I think Meghan and Harry are. So very brave against such adversity, a complete inspiration to us all.
We, as Britons, should feel proud to have had them living here amongst us for a few months.

God Bless Meghan and Harry.

In my view it's 50/50 whether Harry or William will be in a better place in 10 years time. A shame, I'm no royalist but I wish them both good luck. Anyway, perhaps I should have realised from the opening post that this was the "I hate Harry and Megan" thread so perhaps I'd better leave you all to it?

I have heard today a rumour from an industry insider, that the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine was actually discovered by Meghan herself and funded by Harry, from the sale of his mutterings about the incredibly hard life he has led, to an undisclosed media outlet .

Can i take this opportunity to publicly thank Her Ex Royal Dutchessness for her epidemiological and pipette skills and the tireless dedication of Harry with his ability to talk randomly to the media about how hard his life is, that has allowed them to directly save the lives of billions around the globe....not forgetting her managing to also guest edit Vogue for a month.

God Bless Meghan and Harry.

They're earning money for themselves - that sounds pretty useful and productive to me smile
