You do know how much the presidency costs the French don’t you?

BP entry fees nearly cover the entire Crown subsidy.

Plus nearly all the £ subsidy goes into the repair costs of our palaces. France will have to pay for them too.
It’s not about the money!

It’s about the sovereignty and freedom to go our own way and elect who we want, and not be stuck with a bunch of un-elected elites...!!!!!!11111

Oh, wait... wrong thread??

Yes, odds are it is cobbled up nonsense by some workers at BP that don’t like Meghan for “reasons”.

The sheer volume of hate in the mail etc. directed clearly at her shows there is a huge demand for people with “reasons” to read this guff. Should be no surprise some of these “types” work at BP.

It’s all very sad and yet another stain on the UK on the global stage.
Why would people who work for an oil company have issues with Meghan?

It does seem suspiciously timed but I don't think the Palace have a choice but to investigate the allegations to be fair.

Either it comes to nothing or there's something in it.
Yes, BP can't avoid the accusations. It will be interesting to see how convincing they are.

Just seen a comment elsewhere - "fed up with these two. it was they that left the country. don't know why we give her etc......" - the mask slips so obviously.

Excellent point - it's like putting in a grievance against your line manager and then, completely coincidentally, being accused of poor performance.

Fishier than a tin of Whiskas.
Strange - as a manager I always find grievances tend to appear "after" conversations start about poor performance. Same as restructures: grievances are often like defencive chaff - attack is best form of defence etc.

Not sure who is the manager and who is the employee in this context: Megan or the "firm" (lol)

Personally, my feeling is

- Megan should have known what she was getting into, and has flounced because she couldn't control it
- Harry got dragged along - I think he's out of his depth
- Did the firm close ranks on what they saw as a threat: yeah, probably
- Did Megal behave in a way that looked like bullying: yeah, probably
- I think it will end in tears, and he will be back. He's given up / losing a lot of his links to the military, which must be gutting for him

I can totally understand why this has got to 250 odd pages, but dismissing it all as "reasons" is being deliberately naive.

She really is every parents worst nightmare isn't she. What a daughter-in-law to inherit...dear me.
I mean no surprises...we've been saying she'll be trouble since day 1.

Poor Harry - come back Man...get out now. She's a full on mental. Everybody will understand.

It’s interesting his own brother is livid with him - to the point they have only had 1 short talk/communication is 15-18months.

William seems normal.
Harry seem(Ed) normal.

Something has gone extremely wrong .... say no more.
It’s not interesting at all, any more than your willingness to believe something you’ve read about the amount of time two brothers are reported to have spent talking to each other.

If you think any member of the royal family is ‘normal’ then I suggest you have a little look through the history of the monarchy, starting with Prince Andrew and go back to the Plantagenets and beyond.

You entire narrative seems to be aimed at blaming some half invented, irrelevant family rift on one individual in an effort to defend the indefensible.

I reckon you're bang on there Ian

I do find all the racism stuff incredibly thin skinned. The overwhelming reaction to Meghan in the UK was goodwill, and anything but racist. Doesn't mean whatever racism there was was defensible, but ffs see the bigger picture ...

The thing is, neither side is particularly likeable.

In the red corner we have the Royal Family - anachronistic, aloof, privileged, out of touch but depending on your viewpoint could be somewhat of an asset to UK PLC (lets not get into that boring argument, I could find stats to 'prove' both sides).
In the blue corner we have The Markles - Shallow, pushy, preening, also privileged and also self-pitying, seeming to benefit no-one but the media industry.

But the fight is something it's difficult not to hear about and it's tremendously amusing seeing pompous PHers getting very agitated over each other's comments while simultaneously trying to afford a degree of nonchalence about the outcome and pretending they're only here to sneer at the opposition biggrin

OK, brace yourself, but when they talked of moving to North America to "get away from media attention" and to live a quiet life, they were actually talking boll*ks and the plan all along was to sell themselves to the American networks, who will pay a high price for any royal connections.

Thank you... You know the plot lines of these day time soaps are so removed from reality it just wouldn't happen in real life. I must tune in next week and watch the next episode.

Glad to see standards being maintained, at least up to a point. He really shouldn’t have taken his coat off at a formal event, though.

Seems she has form for out of the blue snap decisions.

So
Sent father to Coventry and stated he wasn’t part of her childhood when he has put the videos they had together in a documentary showing that’s patently not true.

Divorced out of the blue and sent her in laws to Coventry

Flounced and sent the Royal Family to Coventry. Had a baby and not even shown / introduced.

The facts speak volumes. Now maybe she’s been a really poor character choice but as ALL of these are unconnected individuals and groups maybe there is a lot more to it / maybe it’s her?
