Probably the worst interview with Neil so far. No raised voices or argumentative style this time. He just let her talk her way into oblivion..
What the hell?

Will not support a second Scottish referendum, but wants a second leave the EU referendum?

Car crash stuff this. Interesting.

This, I think, is a major issue for "Jo Swinson's Lib Dems" as they now seem to be known.
Why would anyone vote Lib Dem when they were hopeless when part of government last time? Unless "Stop Brexit" I suppose.

Except she didn't just say erm, me did she, she said it was a mistake yet AN kept pushing the same line of questioning and she calmly answered him. I think AN was thinking it was some big 'gotcha' moment but it really wasn't.

Personal bias will probably reflect how we see these interviews but it was in no way the car crash some on here will make out, IMHO.

I'm actually really disappointed with how the Lib Dems have campaigned as I think it's been an opportunity missed by them.

I think that it was an idiotic choice to have someone as leader who directly participated in the Con/Lib coalition.

It was a gotcha moment.

It indicates that the Lib Dems say a lot, but if they end up in another coalition government they'll probably bend over and just do as they are told again.

They make a lot of noise about Brexit. But we all know the only reason Swinson wants to stay in the EU is because her husband is on their payroll.

confused

You seem to be saying that it's not a 'gotcha' if you answer calmly.

She's saying vote for me and I'll reverse the policy I voted for 9 times. That's the gotcha. Not her reaction to that farce.

I think you'd be going balls deep on ridicule if this was BJ biggrin

No What I'm saying was it didn't come across as a 'right I've tripped you up there haven't I moment' that AN seemed to think.

I realise Andrew Neil can do no wrong by some on here and no matter what Swinson does they will have a go, but it really didn't come across as a car crash to me, and I've seen other people say the same.

And I'm sure if it was Johnson you'd be defending him.

Quite. Chukka should have been given the spot directly after joining, he will be after the election.

He bailed when he had his chance of being Labour leader, because family. Plastic politician.

He's got the small matter of winning a seat on December 12 to get through first.

I had the perfect opportunity; he voted for TM's deal. I didn't defend that, nor would I smile

Some things simply speak for themselves. Nine times is one of them.

Ok fair enough

I haven’t actually defended Swinson on the fact she voted for that 9 times either, My comments were solely about how the interview came across ;-)

Unfortunately it’s utterly irrelevant as the Lib Dems blew this election a long time ago.

I’m still unsure where my vote is going but I’m considering voting tactically for the first time ever, there’s an independent running in my area who is gaining many votes and I personally don’t want him as my local MP.
