It is going to be very interesting to see the reaction to the results on Friday - let's imagine there is a Conservative Majority, let's call it a 'mandate' for sts & giggles - I wonder if these proponents of extra-democracy, the People's Vote types, will further accept the result or will they simply just ignore the will of the people again and have another massive tantrum?
You know the answer to that.

massive tantrum, "those types" will publicly melt and the press will lap it up. Hate and panic is a godsend to a press that is populated [mainly] by similar minded and confused people.

There is an element of society that needs to shut up, stop shouting their political ideals at other people and instead, take a proper look in the mirror and begin to start listening and learning.

It's tedious watching you trolling with the same 'attack line'. Time after time.

People like John McDonnell and his Momentum followers despise wealth. They would rather destroy wealth than see it flourish.
You missed out the words "other people's" just before wealth. Both times.

Because naturally people who point out things that you don't agree with are "trolling".

Behave.

The taxing of the top 5% will have widespread effects and increasing corporation tax is going to put huge pressure on struggling firms
Sorry to have edited your post for brevity. You're right of course, but I think people are unaware of these facts from Labour's Grey Book:
  • extra spending £82.9 billion
  • impact of higher tax for top 5% of earners £5.4 billion
  • Corporation Tax increases £23.7 billion
  • other wibbly stuff £53.8 billion
It's this "other stuff" category that people ignore. It includes £6.3 telling multinationals they must pay more UK tax (yeah, good luck with that). And £6.2 billion for a "Fair Tax Programme" which is fantasy stuff.

Oh, and £14 billion from taxing dividends and capital gains the same as income tax - ouch!, very painful for lots of people who earn way below £80k.

Labour's funding plans are a mix of nonsense numbers and misleading politics.
I'm sure the people who shout the loudest about Labour "because NHS etc. etc." and other worthy reasons are blissfully unaware of not only how undelivereable Labour spending plans are, but also how 'austerity' (the left love to hack on about 'Tory' austerity) will be a walk in the park, compared to the post-apocalyptic financial desert that McDonnell will create in the UK.
This is the fundamental problem with Labour & socialist economics in general. It is predicated on the idea that behaviour will not change as a result of taxation rises. It assumes that people & companies will just "suck it up whilst deploying the same (or even greater) levels of investment , economic activity and effort.

It is off course a complete nonsense to assume that & indeed also disregards the fact that often the highest (most valuable) tax payers are the most mobile. We saw it in the 1970s with the brain drain & rock/film stars just leaving the country. History is always very prone to repeating itself but they seem to ignore that.

It also assumes that nobody will take the piss if you start throwing (benefit) money around. We know that's not true from the Blair/Brown years.

That and all the guff about "austerity" - there hasn't been any. Total government spending has always risen year on year. If you want to see austerity, ask the Greeks - 20% cuts in total spending, THAT's austerity.

But think of the children "in poverty" they say (whatever that means) .

We are - servicing government debt already costs £50Bn a year (close to the education budget). Adding to the debt pile as McDonnel wants to is not only utterly reckless but it is also grossly unfair to future generations who will have to deal with the consequences. The after effect of Mad Mac & Magic Grandpa's Marxist experiment would be felt for decades.

These people have never done a days work in their lives outside of politics and they sit there "earning" £70K a year (over £130K in Magic Grandpa's case) with gold-plated pensions to boot. They know absolutely nothing about how difficult it would be for them to earn that kind of money in the real world.

They have spent decades pontificating & designing this Marxist bk but they will not have to suffer the consequences of it , whatever happens.

They can F-R-O.

What's the point - they lie as much as their political idols and never follow through with their promises.

9+ years of Tory government and this is the state of our NHS.

I hope that, whatever the outcome of the election, our NHS gets the investment it desperately needs.

By investment I presume you mean massive cuts to wastage, removing procedures that should never be available on the NHS, a compleate overhaul and in depth look at spending/budgets, Looking at charging people you use A&E due to their own total stupidity/drunkenness etc. That or we could just pour more borrowed money into the NHS bottomless pit and hope for the best...

How much more does it 'need' and how much of the current spend is wisely managed?
