I thought you had lots of successful business friends, and knew lots of people with international experience?

Don't tell me that was a lie too?
I do, and funnily enough most of those financial experts are of the opinion that the £GBP has been chronically undervalued for a while now. The only think that likely to send it into a further slide is talk of a no-deal Brexit, ironically something only the Tory hardliners seem to want?
Only? Who are those people?

Slim majority - 2% expected drop
Hung parliament - 3% to 5% drop

See earlier post.

Recommendations perhaps, Austria? Germany?

Didn’t we have a few Brexiteers on here saying a drop in the value of the pound was a great thing when it happened after they had ‘won’

Does anyone really think corbyn will get in? Elections are won by appealing to the middle, everyone with anything to say in my travels is terrified of him. Nobody just says anything on social media cos they don't want to upset the pc babies.

No it isn't.

If there was a sniff of Corbyn getting in we would below USD1.30 by now.

Turnout the unknown factor at this stage but no sense of panic from the FX markets which bodes well for a Boris majority.
The market is seldom wrong nor are bookies. If Corbyn gets in it’ll be against just about all market predictions and the £ will be at parity to the $

Huge turnouts around my local area in the south west. The brexit party vote is going to split the Cons vote badly.

Get your trousers down & your wallets out lads, there's a Corbyn alliance coming over that hill
Are there actually any seats in the South West for the Tories to gain? They seem to hold them all, in which case Brexit party not standing.

Is anybody else being repeatedly pestered by the hacks of various parties? I've been buzzed today by the Tories (x3), Labour (x3) and Liberal (x2) canvassers and pressed to go and vote. This despite them, apart from the Tory, not being arsed to canvass me in the first place. They all seemed slightly put out when I pointed out that harassing prospective voters might be a bit counter-productive...

In fact, I haven't yet decided whether I'm going to go up and cast my vote.

If I do, I'm torn between holding my nose and voting Tory (solely to keep Corbyn out) or spoiling the ballot paper. But if some fking spotty Young Conservative bothers me again mad, I'll definitely spoil my ballot.

I’m not sure what planet you are on but the £ is not crashing. It’s down about 0.7%. Hardly a crash ffs

I moved cash into a dollar denominated Gold ETF as a hedge on the Brexit vote and that worked well, I'm sure it would again as a hedge against Corbyn but markets now closed unless you can trade in the US?

Seems to be a strong movement for tactical voting to get another hung parliament. Always seemed a rather foolish ambition as the margin between a genuine hung parliament, and one where Labour can govern in coalition, is very fine.

The Brexit lot change their tune according to whatever suits at the time. It's almost like they don't have a plan. Hmmmm.

A Labour minority government would be powerless to do anything other than enact a second Brexit referendum (support from everyone bar the Tories?)

I doubt they could pass much, if anything, from the manifesto.

What will your options be when the bill arrives if Corbyn gets in, like it or lump it?

People with options can exercise choice. Those without...
My options are simple. The first being the most realistic, practical and bloody obvious. Corbyn won’t win the election. The biggest party will be the Tories. It takes a special kind of paranoia to think otherwise. However, a hung parliament is a possibility and one I’d welcome.

Even if the impossible happens then I’ll wake up and carry on as normal. You see, just as Boris won’t implement any of his manifesto, nor will Labour in their maximum 5 year term.

I could of course ask you what happens the day after Brexit when the sky falls in and the economy tanks, but for some reason you won’t believe that could happen whilst believing unflinchingly that Corbyn will implement every one of his policies by 9am on Friday.

Ironically I’m abroad though at the moment (have been since late October, will be til mid Jan) and I do have foreign bank accounts, but I’m not a dreamer who says they’ll leave tomorrow. I could, but I won’t. I may review my decision when / if Brexit kicks in and things go a bit wonky.

For I.T bods like myself, plenty of high-paying work in Dublin, NL and Belgium. There was plenty in Germany last year but it appears to have tanked unless you do SAP.

Going to vote once I pick the the other half up in about half an hour from work and then off to the supermarket to pick up some more beer and then its all eyes on the exit poll.

Whatever the result it will be one the TV event's of the year. Labour can't get into power this time, most likely outcome apart from a small majority will be a Con+Lib+DUP lineup with a second EU referendum as the calf given.

I am not spotty, or young. I mostly do hope that you vote - any way you see fit - because, you know, democracy matters and all that.

Just make it Tory! (couldn't resist)

Unlikely given 300 odd candidates were stood down by the BP, significant numbers of those were in the S/west.

Which could result in a Labour government. I’m not very impressed with any of the parties at the moment but voted Conservative to prevent a Labour government.
