Shocking? Not really. Where I grew up, there are lots of people who feel exactly the same and voice the same kind of opinions. It’s deeply entrenched, especially in the white working class.

The way society is structured, it pits the white working class against ethnic minorities. And this is the result. And skin pigmentation will always generate more tribal conflict than class. Which is a shame. The fact Farage, a privileged member of the elite who has no interest in improving the lives of working people, can recruit willing members of the working classes to do his dirty work, is truly depressing.

This Mincher character is typical, not atypical. That’s the sad part. The only atypical aspect of his behaviour was how willing he was to voice his true feelings to, what I assume was, a relative stranger.
That’s a good post Sir and gets to the heart of why Farage is both deeply unpleasant and worryingly more influential as an activist than a politician.

Racism is racism dude.
Yeah, but a gobby dhead in a kebab house isn't necessarily also a member of a KKK lynch-mob

Just making the point that racism, in common with every other crime I can think of, is available in varying degrees of severity.

Which I do get but I'd also be cautious of giving the impression that it's acceptable if it's on the "not wearing a white robe" end of the spectrum.

I'm sure that the Muslims and Jews on the receiving end of some of Farage's candidates comments don't feel particularly consoled that the people abusing them aren't the KKK.

But it’s still unacceptable racism, right?

Casual racism by dheads is not OK, so why are you drawing a distinction?

I'm sure all of those on here who are so vocal about antisemitism in the Labour Party will now be queuing up to berate Farage for this

Give it time hehe
The above is the context I was replying to.

When you watch this

Racism in key Brexit Party campaign

I can't work out why anyone's first instinct would be "but Corbyn" confused
So Corbyn was not my instinct, but the very subject of what I was replying to.

Anyway. I hadn't seen that video until now. Clearly actual racism rather than some suggestion of it and I hope the police are looking very carefully at it. Nasty bds who deserve what they get.

That said, in the context of the comparison with Labour - made by smn159 remember - they've booted them out. I don't expect Labour to not have instances of anti-Semitism, just to quickly, clearly and decisively cut it out when it shows itself. That seems to have happened here from what I can see.

Job very well done by those journalists.

2% will do nicely.

Beaten by the Green Party.

Still disappointing to see so many people prepared to fund that man and all that he and some of his candidates stand for.

Exactly. The hollow chutzpah of the losers above is scant compensation for them realising their wkish views have been roundly rejected by a people's vote.

I wouldn't say that.

Labour destroyed Labour with its excessive policies, and with it the 2nd referendum.

this is the sad new reality of politics, just like trump, farage can never admit defeat and will try spin things to make him look better.

Is the above what the Brexit party members paid their £250 for, I dont believe so (am I correct in that he set up the party because the current EU deal was bad for Britain)? They could have saved their £250 and voted Tory. He should explain himself to them but I doubt he will .

With the way he structured the Brexit party he is accountable to nobody so now can sail off into the sunset with his Brexit party membership fees in addition to his ongoing EU salary, plus expenses and look froward to his EU pension and future severance lump sum. He has done well for himself.

Say what you like but without Farage there would be no referendum and no Brexit.
Whether that's a good thing depends on your viewpoint but the fact is he's been very influential on British politics these last few years.

Farage sacrificed his own personal interests to make sure Brexit happens.

He single handedly made the referendum happen and has since ensured that Brexit can't be diluted or rescinded. In my opinion he's the real MVP of politics.
