(anyone seen Jo Swinson?)
Jo is doing well, holding up and moving on now. She has taken a role as a ‘visiting professor’ at Cranfield School of Management but has few other irons in the fire. It's fair to say she was pretty down for a bit after the election, but she has plenty of support around her now.
Why didn't I think to look at her twitter account?
All the info above is on there, so thanks for the heads up.
Is this the Jo that was standing as ‘your future Prime Minister’ , she signed her own loser warrant right there. Silly lady.

Do I think Wetherspoons staff will return? Some will and some won’t, tbh I haven’t given it a moments thought. But I do hope the business can swiftly return to providing its clientele the service and return the business back to profitability.
i'm a fan of weatherperson luckily the one near me Uttoxeter is pretty good. I've stayed at the hotel in Worcester and think it is a great business. They have allowed people on not a lot of money to enjoy life a bit more, and the Government really should give the whole sector a break considering how hard it has been struck.
Tim Martin, as you know, formed the Company in 1979, and has grown the business into a multi-million pound successful business. Due for further expansion into the hotel sector, and yet owing to politics is denounced and belittled. This is a great shame on those that choose to take this line of attack, the Nation needs more entrepreneurs such as Martin, Dyson and Branson that will help take the U.K. forward.

If you don't want to be attacked don't make it political. Simple really.

Lots of organisations stay far away from politics for this reason. They work with whatever the agenda is for the day.

Lord Bamford is political, he was clear on his views yet doesn't get vilified? What's the difference?

Noone dislikes what he's saying - maybe that's a possibility?

AFAIK it's still a free country and you can contribute in any way you please and that includes criticising ideas. If you opt to voice your ideas be prepared to have them challenged and remembered. 2 Things in this day and age.

1) be ready for online trolls
2) the internet never forgets.

If you can't be prepared for those things then keep your mouth shut.

This is a major problem we have with the minority group which wish to rule by placard and twitter accounts. Just look at the quality of the attacks on individuals, in the main they are not politics against politics, the rebuffs are personal with the use of vile language and inferences of other means of confrontation. In the case of Tim Martin the business he founded has been used as a target as well as his customers.
What you have stated is, if you run a business do not dare to hold a political belief, if you do we will
vilify you. That i’m my view is disgusting behaviour and needs to be stopped.

Isn't 'Spoons a public listed company? Therefore Mr 'Spoons Martin shouldn't really be making political statements that effect the public listed company.

Judging by your continued White Knight approach to the company I do wonder if you are an investor?

And let's not forget that Mr Tim Martin is the founder of a company that was fined £24 000.00 in 2015 for direct racial discrimination. A perfect fit for faarange & co.

A conviction for direct racial discrimination is harmful to any company and extremely distasteful. But I'm sure some posters on NP&E might actually find such a conviction a good reason to support such organisations..!!!!

And our resident "Burn the witch" squad try to lay the blame at the company's founder.

Nope its criticism which is expected against the person and business which you open your business up to If you decide to publicise it.

No one stopping you holding your beliefs it’s just if it becomes a public one and you have a platform to share it you will be criticised for it. If you want to broadcast it on public television expect people to take notice, you can’t have it both ways.

Do you realise the hypocrisy in your statements?

If his political statements had a positive affect upon the Company I assume that would be OK then.
I would like the Board to agree to any political affiliation or statements before going public.
My support for J.D. Wetherspoons is strong, in particular I admire Tim Martins approach to founding the business. The fact that the Company ‘rescues’ important local buildings, many being listed and at risk, bringing those buildings back into useful use.
The positive forward expansion plans of the Company make for an exciting business future.

As for the discrimination case against the Company yes a serious error was made. In hindsight they should have simply closed for that period of time, perhaps for minor refurbishment. Why you choose to bring Mr Farage into that issue is a mystery to me, it had nothing whatsoever linking the Company to him??

Why is his name in this sentence, if not to personally link him to the 'crime'?

I would imagine that even a simpleton can clearly understand the accuracy of the sentence! Try to read the sentence again but slower this time.
If you would like some extra help with your reading please feel free to ask.

‘Spoons gets very little wrong. The customers will flock back because the fundamentals of what it does are very solid. At the end of the day 99.9% of customers don’t give a fk if the company was fined for frankly anything.

Same goes for Farage/supporters really. He got the job done. Anything/everything else is irrelevant. If it cost some folks £25 then I imagine it’s probably the most efficient investment they have made. I’ve personally never given Nige any dosh or voted for him, but I do admit to breaking a lifelong red line of mine and voting for Widdecomb. Because it got the job done. I can hopefully safely retreat to my nice comfort zone of never having to vote for her again.

As already stated, my comment is clear. If you disagree with my insistence of clarity, then I welcome you to explain your obvious befuddlement.

Maybe it is in fact you that should consider how you read comments of forums? Could it be possible that you have an overall negative outlook on life and due to this negativity, you read comments in a particularly negative and obtuse way?
