Novak Djokovic is pictured hugging children at event the day AFTER 'positive Covid test' that his lawyers say earned him a written exemption from Australian government excusing him from vaccination rules

If true - I can't see this sitting well with the populous.

I wonder whether Nigel would be so upset if it was Arthur Ash?
I'm sure Nigel would do the same for you or I or any of his supporters and he's being completely consistent with his long held views on sovereignty.

It absolutely definitely has nothing at all to do with Australia and Djokovic's positions on Covid and vaccination.

I note that he doesn't mention that border control isn't a state matter (Victoria) in Australia -- it's a federal matter. But of course, he wants to get his base agitated.
I just think it's funny how a bloke who's made a career insisting countries should be able to choose how to police their borders is losing his st when a country chooses how to police its borders.

Maybe you can explain why it’s wrong for him to criticise it’s misuse rolleyes

He will go for anything that might put him in the media and newspapers. Reasons don't matter. This is normal conduct for this shapeshifter.

So you're saying that a foreign national coming to a country for the sole purpose of doing work, getting paid and leaving with the money, is something Farage is for?

Stewie, I normally agree with virtually everything you post, and disagree with most of what Ivan posts, however in this case...

It's not really anything to do with immigration. Some bloke wants to play tennis for a week. Thats all there is to it.

The Australians are making themselves look like absolute pillocks in my opinion. They know he isn't vaccinated, so they either let him in to play tennis or they don't, but they should have been very clear about this with Djokovic, long before he boarded his plane. It seems they can't decide amongst themselves what they want, unless I am totally misunderstanding the situation?

fk knows why Farage is sticking his oar in though?

Commiserations on that hehe

I actually agree that it isn't proper immigration.

Personally whilst I think Djokovic is a muppet I also think he's been a bit hard done by and Australia have made themselves look all over the place.

Farage is sticking his oar in because the whole covid/vaccine/passports/whatever "siding" with Djokovic appeals to a lot of his base.

I think people are just taking the piss because it's funny when someone who's spent their life shouting that countries should be able to control their borders gets all shouty when a country controls its borders.

I don't see how believing in the general principle of countries controlling their borders commits you to never criticising any decision. It's like saying if you like cars you have to like Austin Montegos.

Thats fair.

I don't like Djokovic (Much more of a Federer fan myself) but I agree that he's been royally messed about by the Aussies.

I think with Farage, we all know what the answer is. Anything to stay relevant.

Clash of the pillocks. Djokovic's a pillock, Tennis Australia are pillocks, Border Force are pillocks, Australian Federal Govt come acrossas complete pillocks ... but ... being a Brit, glass houses and stones come to mind.

I think Farage banged on about controlled immigration as opposed to no immigration at all didn't he. for all the abuse he gets I've never seen the frothers in the past saying our Nige is crazy there won't ever be any world cups again in the UK if he gets in.

Just because he thinks that a world class healthy sportsman should be able to get into Australia doesn't mean to say he is wrong about stopping the UK immigration from being a free for all.

What is it about binary choices I keep hearing from the do-gooders.
