274 candidates standing.

If anyone sees one, can they ask them what other polices they propose besides leaving the EU?
Yes you make a good point , some people seem to think they are just a single issue party ...

Farage has been played like a harp by the Tories.

TBP has shrivelled away to all but irrelevance on a nudge and a wink from Boris.

I think this is it for Nigel, I really think he is finished now.

Don't you think he has worked out there are lots of people who hate change and are in the I'm all right jack fluck anyone else camp who have done everything possible to stop brexit , so a watered down baby steps boris deal is the only route out
as for finished I think its the exact opposite there is lots of work to be done some hopefully by possibly our greatest living statesman...

Well, who'd a thunk it. Apparently they want to:

"Invest in digital infrastructure – now a vital personal utility – to provide free base level domestic broadband for everyone and free Wi-Fi on all public transport."

Seems like Corbyn nicked and enhanced his idea.

I'm annoyed there is no Brexit party candidate in my constituency, the choice is limited. Just the same old corrupt loony useless 3 partys, the greens, see above only more so, and a local nutter.
I'm going to vote for the local nutter, otherwise I'm voting for the same old st show to continue. Dissapointing.
same here although an exKipper (who was a also a pretty decent local councillor) is standing as an indie now so that is better than voting for the nutter and means my vote is not wasted

Smart move.

How else are the likes of Goonry, Crankie, and Stroker going to access the Mail Online comments section and find out what time Wetherspoon's opens ?

I expect he'll continue with his LBC slot and guest on US conservative channels. He'll probably make loads of money and hold onto his celebrity status, unlike many of politicians dropping off the radar after this election.
This after all is all that Nigel Farage wants. He doesn't want to actually achieve a position of power, or be in a position where he might actually have to enact, say, leaving the EU. He wouldn't have the first clue how to go about it, because it's an extremely complex process which will take years and years.

Basically he has achieved a cushy job (MEP) off the back of making vague assertions about taking back control etc etc that have acted as a rallying cry for the gullible and the disappointed.

Don't forget he disappeared and was nowhere to be seen in late 2016 when people were asking how exactly (in specific terms) Brexit should be carried out, ergo he doesn't have the faintest idea.

Quite so

An absolute charlatan.

A successful one in terms of personal profile, self enrichment and indeed converting single issue thinkers to his cause.

But a charlatan nonetheless.

What is he polling now? 11%?

That could be almost a third of those who voted Brexit in 2016.

You know, you could actually try and refute the assertions made?

Because that would make any difference to what you and others who deny he has been successful think...

I don't think anybody says he has been unsuccessful per se.

How one qualifies the success is what is mostly under debate.

Stroker hasn't made a sensible comment on the boards in months.

I wonder if Farage would honestly think he’s been successful?

Success.

Helped bring about the brexit referendum
Success in euro elections
Influencing Conservative party policy

Failure

Failed to become part of the official leave campaign
Failed to get a voting agreement with conservatives, then said he’d compete against them and backed down.
Failed to win a seat as MP six times.

Looks like a mixed bag tbh. But I can’t see a politician failing that often to become an MP and although having influence, never actually having any real power and constantly failing to get that seat on the top table, ever viewing their career as a success.

He's been very successful and in many ways has galvanised people for a cause in ways "remain" could only have dreamed of.

Doesn't change him being what he is as a human being though which is what I think many people have an issue with.

You don't see 2 volumes on Dan Hannan or any of the perfectly civil people who want to leave the EU.

Not really I think he’s symptomatic of the level we’ve sunk to in this country, where it’s easier to blame other people for problems that have sod all to do with them.

Farage personally will do very well out of economic uncertainty resulting from a disorderly exit from the EU, his army of forelock tugging cap doffers less so.

He’s the most successful racist in the country, though he does have some upcoming competition.

Not the sort of success to be proud of though really.
