Vegan Snowflakes
Discussion
‘People can be allergic to pork and potentially die from such a stupid mistake. It’s my choice not to consume meat because it causes cancer. That choice has been taken away from me.’
Pork allergies are uncommon. Meat doesn't cause cancer, but it can increase the risk.
She is definitely a snow flake.

Is she calling herself stupid? She appears to be the only one who made a mistake, unless I've missed something... Pork allergies are uncommon. Meat doesn't cause cancer, but it can increase the risk.

Amazing just how few vegans you find in poor countries !! Bet Oxfam are not catering for any in Ethiopia etc .Well other than the volunteers on Gap years ! Its a pointless lifestyle taken by very “needy insecure types “
Strict Indian Vegetarian/ Jain cooking, while not vegan (milk products are allowed) have some rules even stricter. Ie no vegetables obtained by killing the plant (so onions and garlic are out) Pretty common in South India (why airlines have both Indian veg meals and strict Indian veg meals for order)
If people want to eat a vegan or vegetarian diet, and for a variety of their own reasons, that is absolutely fine, Trying to make someone who does not want to eat meat, to eat meat is as wrong as trying to make those who do want to eat meat, stop eating meat. it is a personal choice which must be respected.
the problem could possibly come from companies who are using meat related titles for their non meat products, which might cause some confusion in those, who do, or don't want to eat meat.
Not so much a problem I would suggest, for meat eaters if they inadvertently eat a non meat `sausage roll, but perhaps more of an issue for a non meat eater who also inadvertently eats an actual sausage roll.
The problem is that if we are not supposed to eat meat, why does it taste so delicious?`
A relatives family has a mother who is a vegan, whilst the father likes meat, but was `induced'? to become a vegan. the children were also induced to become vegans.
At a party there the mother public spiritedly provided meat options for the guests. I witnessed two events related to this at the party.
The first was where the husband (possibly absent mindedly) picked up a ham sandwich off the buffet table, and started eating it, the mother came in, and almost screamed at him for doing so at which point he had to rapidly empty his mouth out into the waste bin.
The second was where one of the grand children of about 6, and brought up as a vegan, saw the buffet table, and then picked up, and ate a sausage roll. I cannot remember when I saw such a look of pure joy and ecstasy on a childs face, as at that moment. After which he grabbed a handful of sausage rolls, and ran into the garden to eat them.
I remember leaving that party thinking poor s*ds

Stupid meat eaters eating food distilling by nature.
I'm glad I only eat engineered foods made in a factory using GMO ingredients and a multitude of chemicals.
Just for clarity, what is a stupid meat eater? Is it the meat itself which is stupid, or is it the person eating the meat who is stupid, and if so why?I'm glad I only eat engineered foods made in a factory using GMO ingredients and a multitude of chemicals.

Meat consumption is under the magnifying glass because of health issues in the west, the envrio’ costs and also, of course, animal welfare / ethical issues.
It’s amazing that in the last two years; plant based / biased food has taken off so much.
As for the Greggs story. She ordered a vegan sausage roll and received an animal sausage roll; I can see why she’d be pissed off. Just as anyone ordering anything, and receiving the wrong thing might be upset; add in her obvious ethical stance.

my wife is a veggie - she knows straight away as soon as she tastes it that it's meat (usually happens with spring rolls from a Chinese) she calmly takes it out of her mouth and gets on with her meal.
She doesn't have heart palpitations or starts gurning a dailymail sad-face.
Probably been veggie for more than 2 years too.She doesn't have heart palpitations or starts gurning a dailymail sad-face.

And because there is an absolute s**t tonne of money to be made in prepared vegan/vegetarian foods. The ingredients cost sod all and you can sell them for the same money as meat versions. It’s amazing that in the last two years; plant based / biased food has taken off so much.

That is fine as long as she asked for a vegan sausage roll. What if she didn't and wanted this publicity? It’s amazing that in the last two years; plant based / biased food has taken off so much.
