This is what I was worried about when reading the deal/treaty.

Future relationship 'could take years' to agree.

Mr Barnier appeared to confirm that he would expect negotiations of the future deal to take "two or three more years" than expected.

Mr Barnier told MEPs during a debate in the European parliament coming to a future agreement to replace UK's membership of the EU would "of course" take years to complete.

Reacting to comments made by Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, he said: “What we are doing at the moment is unpicking 44 years of cooperation.

"I was surprised by Mr Farage… saying that this agreement opens doors to three further years of negotiation. Well, of course.

“We are going to have to negotiate beyond Brexit, and the divorce settlement - may be two-three or more years for some areas - to rebuild everything that has had to be unpicked as a result of those who wish Brexit.
Of course it could.

Huge difference is, we don't have to wait... Last deal, we had zero ability to extricate ourselves. This time, we do.

Setting a deadline on bilateral negotiations doesn't work. We cannot legally force the EU to agree by a certain date, nor can they do the same to us.

It's also worth picking apart what, specifically, are "some areas". As is typical, the vast majority of this sort of stuff is quick and routine, agri/FS/etc. tend to be the areas that bog down.
Yes, good point. beer
Please, carry on finding stuff you don't like - I'm conscious I've bought into it, based upon what I can see, understand and interpret.

More heads the better, we're fairly similar in aims, along with FiF and Stongle as I understand it.
Exactly. Really appreciate it and as you say more heads are better to work it all out.

Just wish this information was more at hand for the General public to know the facts.

What worries me is many if not most MP's have stated that they haven't had the time to read it in full. How is that possible when they are voting for or against.

Following PM @BorisJohnson’s decision to pause the process of ratification of the Withdrawal Agreement, and in order to avoid a no-deal #Brexit, I will recommend the EU27 accept the UK request for an extension. For this, I will propose a written procedure.

Ex-Tory Stephen Hammond suggests to SkyNews that he thinks Boris Johnson will negotiate an extension to November 15 and try to force thru legislation against the cliff edge.
How have Brexiter cliff edge ultimatums worked out for them so far?

Rather proving my point there, Laurel. People's vote spends millions on advertising - gets a few hundred thousand people on the streets. The Brexit Party spends all of its budget leading up to the Euro elections and hammers the (better funded) opposition.

What does this tell us? The People's Vote is a paid vote - all that "extra democracy" is based on advertising dollars. The Brexit Party also relies on funding, and gets that funding when the electorate are frustrated with people blocking Brexit.
If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

That cannot be right, remainers have told us all along that the EU didn't care whether we left with no deal or not. Who would've thunk it...

Chap, we currently have senior MPs, calling for us to join the Customs Union, but not Single Market.

The same senior MPs who are terrified of the UK selling the NHS to the US.

Senior MPs that haven't quite realised, that under their proposals, if the UK Government rejected a FTA with the States that included healthcare, but the EU signed one that did (as TTIP did) - then the UK has absolutely zero ability or power to prevent the US entering the NHS...

Frankly, if they had the best legal team in the world, run through the CBeebies script writers to convert into Key Stage 1 level summaries, they'd still understand fewer words than one in ten.

What a complete and totally unexpected surprise
There is no way I saw that coming and I expect that it will likewise shock many many others.
Percy my red parrot fell off his pech when I told him so shocked he was 2 millet strips couldn't calm him down
Totally unexpected

From complete start to finish people on both sides of the EU there and here have conspired against Brexit ever happening

They keep saying that but we know the EU needs the UK more than we need them.

Proof by Merkel's stating we would be a competitor like the US or China and that fact Germany is now in a recession.

How much of our hard earned was spent on this advertising campaign? Wouldn't it have been better going to the NHS?

They had realised they had done too little, too late.

Still they get a decent severance package.

Very true.

What gets me is the fact Labour keeps stating workers rights. It's like they think leaving the EU will turn the UK into North Korea.

Now I have said that I bet someone will state we will be. laugh

Leavers should be very pleased tonight.

When you look at who has supported the motion - including Rudd and others - it does not look good for 2nd ref numbers. Perhaps it is still possible but that really is the only way to stop Brexit now. No other amendment will make any difference, and the more controversial amendments like customs union may not get the numbers either.

Where are Nandy and Flint on things like the customs union? It looks like they will do whatever keeps their leave constituencies happy, and that probably excludes messing about softening this brexit.

It's clear an extension is going to happen. If it does that could mean a General Election. If that is the case I would be happy.

Yeah, but is he one of those weirdos who has mayo with his chips?

He has got a few very tasteful cars...
