I think he understands exactly where the EU are coming from as do most rational people
The EU are saying you can leave, but you’re not really leaving
You think you have taken back control, but actually we are still in control
You think you can make your own rules, but actually you must adhere to ours and our court had Primacy over yours
Etc etc
Last night Frost told them to fk right off that ain’t happening
It's playground politics. The EU are saying you can leave, but you’re not really leaving

You're part of a club, you tell them you can do better without the club and you will leave and do a better job of it.
The club won't be your best mates after that, especially after the distruption you've caused the club on the world stage and the financial etc problems.
Doesn't do to pique one of your very best clients when he's putting the shoes on your kids' feet.

Once again, we're not asking to be best mates. You're part of a club, you tell them you can do better without the club and you will leave and do a better job of it.

We're asking for things they've agreed with far less supportive friends, and they've not placed the same demands on those nations...
You of all people should know life ain't fair, they will try to exact as much as they can from us without a care in the world to any deal they have agreed with others.
No deal is very much still on the horizon hopefully.

What disruption? The Lisbon Treaty clearly states that any member can leave providing it follows the specified procedure, which the UK has done. You're part of a club, you tell them you can do better without the club and you will leave and do a better job of it.

The truth is that the EU played the immovable object as usual, failed to recognise that playing that game was going to end with the loss of the U.K. EU now recognise the urgent need for themselves to evolve before dissolve.
Well, not all immovable objects ... Clearly the Rock that Spain is saying must be in the discussion is immovable but apparently the Greeks are now saying any deal is subject to the return of the Elgin Marbles .. at least they can be moved

Certain member states will be left with a choice of their national interest or the interest of the “community” potentially at great harm to their own economy
And we know that all politicians want to get re-elected .. and it’s not Barnier and Van der Leydon voting for them
Interesting times

Exactly, people seem to be saying but you did X with Canada and Y with norway. No deal is very much still on the horizon hopefully.
But its their prerogative. Who are we to sit there and finger point at how they (well it was actually us in the past) conducted their affairs with other countries.
I'm sure we will be the first ones to be annoyed if we do a deal with Aus and then NZ comes upto us and says but you did XYZ with Aus, what about us?
Once again, they owe us no favours and we owe them no favours.

Can you stop moaning about how immigration has cursed your lives, I have been careful not to mention it in the posts above; Tuna has set up a thread for you to bang on about that.
You don’t set the rules in here mate, live with it, obviously you don’t like to hear of the very real negative effects the lousy EU experiment has had on some people. It is relevant and real life, as opposed to your unending support of the rotten EU.But it’s funny to watch the hypocrisy.
It has been amusing to see the Tuna thread run to so many posts, many proving that there is indeed an issue.
And funnier here, after the protestations about not discussing certain topics, to see some of the familiar old myths about wages trotted out, including one story where even if immigrants did affect his sons wages (doubtful), he now has a job where this is no longer an issue, proving surely that he has not been stopped at all from having a good career by immigrants. So why are some still worked up about it?
Cue a pile on, sorry to interrupt the echo chamber.

The border to Spain runs just fine 99% of time until the Spaniards throw a hissy.

Again, as you seem to be really struggling with this - we're not asking for "favours". We're asking for entirely normal and typical terms - which they can of course reject.
Just like they rejected entirely typical terms under CETA, until the Canadians called them out on it and walked away... What happened? The EU begged them to come back to the table and locked the Council in a room until it had been signed.
So yes, it's their prerogative. It's also ours to call it out as bullst.
Speculation that Greece will want the UK to return the Elgin Marbles as the price for an EU trade deal.
First the fish, now it's the 'return or restitution of unlawfully removed cultural object'.
I'm just hoping we're not about to get our pants pulled down by the EU. Where are those sunlit uplands?

I have said ever since the referendum result that I am hoping for a no deal brexit.I am firmly of the view that brexit is a mistake and if we are going to trash our relationship with Europe and our economy we may as well do it properly.
