Bit bloody hasty with the murder charge (and the facebook publication in the press) if that was the case.

What murder charge?

Bit bloody hasty, you are! smile

Get found in possession of dead bodies and it's likely you're going to get arrested. Not unreasonable.

Its an arrest under suspicion of murder. I'd suggest that if this happened to you you'd be devastated. If the truck driver hasn't been involved other than picking it up from the port and driving it to the final location then some utter c**t of a policeman needs to be issuing him with a fekin grovelling apology.

I think it is common practice (and sensible) to arrest for the most serious thing that it might be.

Yep, it affords the person in custody a number of rights - including access to free legal help. It's not really unexpected to be arrested if you're driving around with 39 dead people as your cargo.

Read my earlier posts. If he has got nothing to do with these dead people and didn't know they were there then being arrested is the safest outcome for him right now. It's must more difficult for him to become wrongly convicted.

Exactly, in a fatal car crash, a driver is always arrested there and then under suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving despite being completely blameless. It allows the Police the time to investigate fully.

What we know is the trailer left the ferry at purfleet at 01:05

It’s no more than a ten minute drive to that location.

The ambulance services called the police so at a guess the driver called it in?

If they were on a ferry from Zeebrugge then it sounds like the Dover case with the Chinese and the vent was shut to the trailer and they suffocated. Wonder who dropped that trailer off at Zeebrugge?

perhaps the driver grabbed the trailer, then parked up for a few hours kip? chances are he's had a designated time to drop his load off (common practice and big distibution centres. popped the container open an hour before to check the load hasnt shifted and everythings ship shape so it doesnt get rejected and got a surprise opening the door. ambulance service called then they've called the police

I think that seeing as the ambulance service were called i’d say the arrested driver has just picked the load up and as above popped the back open to check.

I really wouldn't read too much about it being reported that the ambulance service called the police. It's probably just a roundabout way of not having to say that the driver called the emergency services.

Sounds like it’s a Irish truck registered in Bulgaria. Was registered there in 2017 and has never been back since.

Depends what was on the paperwork , driver expecting to hook a loaded trailer then finding out he's running light , pulls ever to check ?

When you say “sounds like” you mean exactly what is being reported on the news hehe

I also wouldnt read to much into when the truck is. I know chilli says otherwise but I live 2 miles away and having shopped many a time it really isn’t unusual to see a truck overnighting down there.

A 20 second walk is a 24 hour food bus (yes exactly what it says).
